Actually from what I last heard the land is available but you'll have to clear it and build on it yourself. Dunno about the guards...or underage girls.
I notice that A LOT of people in IT are heavily into conspiracy theories, even outside of the US, where there's no culture of pathological distrust of government adding fuel to the fire. I think it's what happens when a person's skepticism and reasoning ability are decently good, but much better than their knowledge of history and science.
You're right I forgot they have an extradition treaty and occasionally use it. There are plenty of other countries to choose from, pick one from the ALBA group.
They have a democratically elected government that reflects the will of the people better than the US' has in decades. Yeah the government isn't great on freedom of the press...but see how the US treats whistleblowers and now even the most legit established journalists who report on the whistleblowing. And I'm pretty sure only one of those countries has secret interpretations of the law used in a secret court to make something otherwise illegal as all hell technically legal. And I'm not even going to start comparing the things they do to foreigners...
It makes me laugh that so many Americans try to make Venezuela look like the South American USSR over freedom of the press issues not much worse than their own, and yet have nothing bad to say about Israel whatsoever.
Most fun movie of the summer so far. It's refreshing to see a movie that doesn't try to make itself seem deep and meaningful when it's not by simply taking itself too seriously, this movie is full of silly and cheesy parts and it makes no apologies. It's part classic kaiju, part 50s monster movie, part live-action anime and part comedy.
The conflicting portion of the GPL here is not a shortcoming. It is a very intentional and IMO positive part of its design. Sad that they're trying to work around it. As far as I can tell this is still a GPLv2 violation though:
A guinea pig ranch? That sounds like the cutest thing in the world! ^_^
A single smartphone or tablet could fill the role of radio, small TV (with some kind of TV tuner...there are a few on the market) and OLPC. Might only cost 2x the small TV all together and use much less power.
Just getting kids started with programming will be enough to devalue salaries significantly. Normally companies "need" (based on where it would be taught) someone with a BSc to do things with Scary Text on a computer.
There's no shortage of skilled CS workers, just a shortage of companies willing to pay them decently.
The goal of this effort and similar ones like FWD.us (Facebook's Wealth Demands Unlimited Slaves?) is to make sure every kid can program when they leave high school, so that you can pay entry-level programmers the same as gas station attendants.
An excellent question. But even those may not be as bad as wrinkle.spoon.slanty and the other nonsense that will have to be used once the meaningful phrases are used up.
And furthermore, what would be the point if all you could do is tell someone they have a predisposition to violence and put it in a private medical file? I'm sure that's not what these folks are intending.
TPB correctly doesn't respond to DMCA requests because they're not hosting the content in question. These requests are directed at Google. So if you search "game of thrones season 1 HD torrent" on Google you won't get a link to a magnet link that will lead to a torrent of that exact thing on TPB. But if you go to thepiratebay.sx or whatever their latest TLD is and search for that you'll get it right away.
It sure is! The copyright holders figured this out about a year ago.
In fact maybe this was an attempt to make DMCA takedown lists less useful, by filling them with unrelated stuff, no longer making them a handy directory of the goodies you're looking for.
Nowhere near any. I think the iodine was in the water bottles for the same reason it's used in camping.

I don't think it'll help. For a long time my office had a water cooler that fed from bottles and the water had a heavy taste of iodine.
Didn't gain superpowers :-(

Venezuela [...] were people are truly oppressed
LOLWUT?

Try to replicate this behavior which was in place before the Yahoo buyout:
1. Place pornographic term in tumblr's own search engine
2. Receive lolcats
You assumed they weren't wildly incompatible!?

This. This is a loss for FLOSS.
And how is this not still a GPLv2 violation?

Why -1? I thought this was quite clever.

Thank you, this is less offensive than the article.

Well then how about our track record with people with darker skin or left-handedness or whose ancestors were from certain places or had certain jobs?
That too...
I do, why search one torrent site when you can search them all at once?
VLC? Shitty!? You must be a mac user upset that it didn't have a minimalistic interface filled with silly skeumorphisms.
