    Frankincense and myrrh are consumables which may have limited their investment value. I can't speak to their resale value but it's difficult to imagine aromatic products (IE. perfumes) being valuable.

    Well, if you look at the murders in america, most are committed by left-leaning persons, who are raised in families of left-leaning people, in communities of left-leaning families, etc.

    When I went through boot camp, it was probably even split between liberal city boys and conservative country boys. Many of them owned guns before joining, and were from families that owned firearms.

    One recruit even had fired full-auto weapons before joining, but that was because his dad was a drug dealer.(1029, Oorah!)

    A more useful response -- or at least one that I would have liked to see -- might've asked for a clearer definition of socially useful, or pointed to some socially useful things bitcoin does, or relied on the moderation system to silence the original overgeneral comment.

    Sigh.

    Then you should have logged in and made that response, rather than bellyaching that no one else did.

  16. Without Googling it, list 5 instances of "unarmed black men" being shot or killed by police.

    Now, without Googling it, list 5 instances of "unarmed white men" being shot or killed by police. I'll even give credit for "Hispanic white men".

    That fact is that not many unarmed people are actually shot or killed by police, out of a population of over 300 million. However, lately nearly every instance of an unarmed black man being shot or killed is trumpeted across the internet and nightly news as if it's an epidemic, while any story of a white guy being shot or killed is ignored.

    Also, it isn't my fault that the black population in the US is many times greater to be involved in serious criminal activity than the white population. A direct numerical comparison is not meaningless. It just doesn't mean what you want it to mean.

    Define "safe". I see lots of police shooting unarmed black men in the news.

    No, actually you don't see a lot of that. You've seen a few instances of that. What you don't see in the news is the even greater number of white men shot by police.

  21. I have a flashlight app from a security company that promises it is safe. I have my bank's app, which I'm sure is safe. I have 3 apps from online job sites, which I trust to be safe. And, finally, I have 2 network/wifi analyzer apps, which I trust to be safe.

    As for apps that seem like they would want to spy on my as much as possible, I don't have any installed. Ones like Tindr, Uber, and OKCupid. So I don't really worry about apps tracking me.
