It is weird to me that words are now patened and whatnot.... I get it but I don't. It sounds like when I was a little kid and my siblings would say, "you can't talk like that cause I did first." and usually ends up with the oldest sibling saying, "you can't breath cause I was breathing before you." just ridiculous.

I think should be a focus on software improvement just like there is in hardware improvement and that, I beleive will only happen in Linux, or what Apple takes from the OSS community.

No offense taken, I hold that the nation must be capitalistic of its own well being and a government cannot support millions of none tax payers, nor is it fair that law breaking non-citizen be granted citizenship simply because the problem of illegal immigration cannot or will not be dealt with. I am a legal immigrant (from Canada), I recognized that America had better opportunity and a political system that has a better chance of change for good through my involvement than Canada. To allow completely unprotected borders would, in my mind, be the same as allowing anyone into your home regardless of their intent. This would open up problems of free riders and destroy the concept of personal property, all of which are problems that a capitalist would want to combat. The other big issue I have with what people view as capitalism is capitalism for the big guys, in a more true capitalism I think that every person must be a capitalist for him or herself, and that mentality can hold true even if they lend their talents, labor etc "capital" to other such things making communities. I believe that the U.S. capitalist interest are to protect the borders, whereas the illegal immigrant's capitalist motives are take down the borders.

I completely agree with you, in the past it was usually the American border that gave us the hard time, but the worst experience in my entire life is brought to you courtesy of the Canadian border, I drove all day and night and got to the border, I was clear to go and my truck stalled and wouldn't start, all I need was a little jump, well they search the entire vehicle and found nothing, questioned me and found nothing, finally the young kid who must have been one of the newest border guards got all kinds of mad and threatened me with fines and jail and so and I had to ask him what he wanted me to say, well after all of it the little punk fined me $975 for "illegally importing the vehicle" and laughed about it with all his buddies behind the desks. Yes border people are unpleasant, but I don't think the American side would fine for no reason, I do not think that they are money grubbers like socialist Canada, I could be wrong and would like to know if I am. I wrote an appeal and am still working on it, but since that summer in Canada and the border experience I am going to try and become a citizen of the US (instead of just a permanent residence) I think the government here still has a chance.

I was born in Canada and have to deal with the Canadian border about once a year and they are pretty money grubbing, so they might move towards Open Source just to save a buck, but the border guards are a bunch of clowns too, bugging the less incriminating people because they are the easiest to bully and fine, so they might have too much trouble figuring it out. Canada is a great country mind you, just not the border, at the Sweetgrass/Coutts checkpoint.

While that is true, I know a good amount of people trying to use older machines because checking e-mail and surfing useful websites and word processing are not taxing programs, yet for some strange reason things have to change, people will pirate Vista and Mac OS before they will simply download and install Linux, which was worth doing when I was much younger and is much easier now that I am older. Another problem is that Windows is in the business of doing everything for you, so much in fact that after using Ubuntu for a couple months I tried vista and it took almost 20 minutes to get to the point where I was in control (that is not counting the time it took to boot up). My friend who calls himself a hacker will jimmy rig windows or Mac OS before using Linux. It is madding and insane! I made a site called cause I wanna move everyone over to Linux, I just never have time for the site so the content is somewhat hap hazard. But I think with all the web servers running a LAMP stack on Linux, people will come around to using it on the desktop, I got it on my laptop and it is great, and I am by no means a power user or a hacker.
