When someone says 'righthand' or 'lefthand' I always wonder if it's because they have to actually look at their hands to tell right from left. Because otherwise what's the reason?
That's such a dumb response. Defacing websites is not exercise one's right to freedom of speech. Setting up your own websites is. Access to media is not zero-sum.
Huh? The point was that freedom of speech is not nearly as sacred to you as mohammad is to a muslim. It's kind of sacred to you but you take it for granted mostly and you certainly wouldn't kill for it or engage in any other extreme acts.
That's such a dumb response too. (a) The cartoons were published in newspapers all over the world, including my country. (b) Muslims protested violently and burned embassies etc. all over the world, including my country.
It not even a free speech issue at this point, just newspapers irresponsibly cashing in on controversy.
Also, fair use says that companies that profit off of other's copyrighted work, and especially companies who diminish the profits of the copyright holders, is unlikely to have a judge rule in their favor.
I don't know about the second part but the first part applies to every search engine on the web and can't possible be accurate.
Mods, Please check your pants size before modding anything flamebait in this thread. Look, the problem is not that we bully fat people in the US because we don't. You can be 200 lbs overweight and nobody will ever call you fat to your face outside of high school. If somebody has a drinking problem or a gambling problem hopefully he's got people who care about him who will give him a reality check. But for overeaters we keep quiet even if it's someone we care about because we don't want to be mean. The solution to obesity is obvious. Eat less and get more exercise. If you think it's more complicated than that you're in denial.
Quick question: Did you feel sorry for the major Type A personality business person who ended up in the hospital due to a severe ulcer? Was it their fault they got one from working too hard and being too stressed?
Sure because there's a big difference between the cures. On the one hand you've got to make some life altering changes like switching careers, and regulating the amount of pie you put into your pie hole just doesn't seem so drastic in comparison.

Sorry I'm not going to start feeling sorry for a condition where the solution is as simple as 'put down the sandwich.' There's too many people with real problems.
The problems I have with Php go way beyond sloppy code. I'm sticking with RoR from now on, and most of the smart web developers are with me. I don't care if the dummies want to stick w/ php, that's what dummies do.
I was wondering where all my hack attempts to xmlrpc were coming from, now I know. Thanks for the info and oh yeah, I won't ever be using your product, noobs.
For me it's all about will I be able to build my tarballs without jumping through a million hoops. Other than that all distros are the same to me. Not really sure how Debian stacks up against RH enterprise in this but I know that oracle 10g won't even go on Debian so right off the bat they lose being my db server, and why not keep everything simple by using the same distro for everything I do?
a little OT but does anyone know the laptop where you can flip the screen around the back and use it like a tablet? I saw a commercial for it awhile ago but I forgot the model.
That's interesting. the thing I took away from that recipe tutorial was being impressed with how hard it was to make a non-elegant rails app. Definitely a good exercise for new coders IMHO.
I dunno, I just bought a cube last month. there's a lot of cheap-ass games for it that are fun as hell. if they had a must-have title for ps2 (gotham racing3?) they might get my $100 before microsoft sees my $400. Plus there's a lot of rpg's that I wouldn't mind playing on ps2 (never owned one). Sure graphics are choppier but gameplay is king. everyone knows this.
It's still a concern. You still have to ask a grieving family if it's ok to put their dead loved one's face on someone else's head. If you can't see an emotional impact there, you might need to check yourself for a pulse.
Agreeing that Naruto is a fine series (when not dubbed) and should in no way be lumped in with digimon. For me it's right up there with Hajime no Ippo and Trigun
Why does some old fart always have to complain about compatibility? If you're using a browser that doesn't do javascript, you're probably used to disappointment. And I can understand how that can make you bitter. But still.

No kidding, this one post nullifies all the good you've done for good old smithj.
I will hyperbolically metaphorize this with being a school crossing guard for 20 years, and then suddenly pushing a bunch of kids under a truck
ok but there's no real reason not to put ssl traffic on port 80. Other than convention I mean.

Freedom of speech is at least as sacred to me as the prophet is to a muslim person.
If that were true you would be defacing muslim websites right now.
It's such a crucial part of the very foundation of our culture.
Are you Danish? No? Then it's not your culture.

Bzzzt wrong answer. The stressed excutive with an ulcer can be cured.
Yeah and fatties can get their stomachs stapled. Still the obvious solution is to put down the sandwich.

Yes this is a common urban legend. But exercise a little common sense and you'll realize how silly it is.

I love superman and I really want to see this movie but I'm afraid it might make me gay.

It's only there to make Wall St. think Microsoft is still relevant and on the edge of the wave.
Please, with the 360 launch, this isn't even a blip on anybody's radar.
