I was wondering whats the whole point of giving things free ? There are really good stuff out there in the wild wild net and how different will MS anti-virus be compared to others ? And why now ?
Well, the bull ain't liftin' its tail without seein' nothin' !!!
I am from India, from Gods Own Country. And i am ashamed to tell that i also know a lot of people who support FOSS not knowing what it is. They support FOSS just because that they dnt have tp pay anything for the usage. They don't understand the concept as such. So that means that even pirated ones are free. Its a shame that things have happened to this extent of manhandling a crowd by the cops. Both parties are not aware of what has to be done. The irony is that this is happening at the worlds largest democracy and that too in a literate state like Kerala, where the literacy percentage is more that 90% and where 1000s of engineers are churned out every year. Truely, a shame!!
Passwords were invented as a way for the user info to be secure. If everywhere something enforces that a password should be of n char length and it should have this many special chars and numbers, mostly users will come up with something that they know too well or are comfortable in remembering.
If every site comes up with trying to enforce these password rules, either the user goes with one password everywhere that he logs into, or he doesn't have any other alternative other than writing it down somewhere, rather than committing this to memory.
The point is, if he loses the device or slip or whatever, where he writes down all this info.. what is he supposed to do ? Create another user ?? That seems absurd. The password strategy is something which has to be changed in time.
OR is it too late ??? By way the things are moving, it seems its too late.
Try Yoga. It will tone you up mentally and physically. It will regulate the thyroid so that u don't eat more. And you keep up the shape, provided you are consistent. If you have a busy schedule and you believe the gymming will help, put in a mail to Arnold, asking how he manages to a Governor role and gymming together !!!
Before getting into *nix systems or Windows systems, i think probably he shud be understanding first, 'bout programming paradigms. Rather than restricting somebody to some system or a particular language, the person should be taught on how to tackle a situation, no matter what language he is using. After all, computer languages are way of expressing how you tackle a particular problem and make the computer do it for ya.So,essentially, paltform to platform, the syntax might change, but of course logic remains the same. But to improve logic, he needs to see the problem in a 3rd person view..as in..what he has with him (language) and what he wants to do. Once he gets into that, (atleast, a fair idea of how he is gonna tackle..start by writing out pseudocode)logic will improve.Once he gets the logic, converting that logic into a particular syntax is not a big deal.He will learn the art of solving problems rather than a particular language or a system.
Problem solving ability grows only by tackling small small challenges at first.Again, u build that ability by slowly advancing your level. Not to mention that, you have to burn out to really learn something. To write great code, you have to go through great code that others have written. In short, there are no shortcuts .
Microsoft dint want to buy Yahoo! in the first place..mayb. As usual, they kept themselves n the news , which they had always wanted. If their efforts were really really directed, no matter what , they wuda pressed Yahoo!, especially, after telling that they will go to the shareholders directly. Now suddenly what had happened ?? You think Yang blocked the chair throw ??
I can understand that people do hacking for fun..to show off their programming capabilities..but these kind of activities are forked off by greed..which causes these guys to go any way..i mean doing anything outta way to get a grab at other's grub..
Whether the language is C, C++ or Java does it really matter to a beginner ? These things become pretty much important when things reach to a much higher level...for a student learning a language, why should he consider whether this language will do fine or not ?
I guess, it is upto the student to learn the languages that he is interested in.. after all you needn't be spoon fed on any particular computer language...i dnt think that an instructor is required full time to teach a language..
My view is that when a problem is given , a solution to that can be provided in any language.Ultimately, the logic remains the same. But every language has its own utilities that makes the life of a programmer easier or hell. So why fret upon what a language does..students have the freedom to study any language they want.

I am sure Ballmer would not agree with this. Anybody know whatz Ballmer's Slash ID ?

Why don't you ask Steve 'Ball'mer ??
I dnt think that people who see my profile are so interested in knowing me .. thats y i wrote in the "About me" column as "As if you care sooo much " ..
