    The BBC should know better and pay up it's not the first time they've done broadcasts from the summit (OK it's the first live broadcast) they must have had to get permits previously so why didn't they bother this time? The Nepalese Government should stick to their guns on this one. Their country their rules.

    Wouldn't it be better to get 5 smaller firms to write it for a tenth of the cost each and then grade them based on user experience and number of bugs reported. Once they all finished or given up give the rest of the money to the firm that did the best job!

    But it might make it clear that it will fail much earlier and then at a lower cost.

    But apparently it didn't succeed in that, either. They're discovering massive failure only after three years and billions of pounds.

    The people doing this project are human they make mistakes. Besides we don't know how Agile they are I've worked on a lot of Agile projects and a lot of Waterfall projects and I've never seen one yet that was wholly Agile. I'd be more interested in how much of it was outsourced but then I didn't RTFA

    You're not a programmer are you? There's no such thing as bug-free code. Just like no writer can proof read his own novel, no programmer can truely find every bug in his own code.

    Absolutely it's called Author Bias. Also what about bugs in the specification? Even a crack team of QA testers won't catch every bug they just reduce the risk significantly.

    I carried that pipe through the mag-line, in my MOPP carrier for a week and a half with out any of the magnetometers going off.

    That's not surprising, not every metal is magnetic.
