Speaking as a programmer turned tester I think if you made all the testers learn programming they'd get all the same programmer biases that the devs already have. Don't teach em all programming just the ones you want to do automation otherwise they'll miss all the same bugs your devs do because they're thinking like programmers.
Now teaching all the devs proper testing practices might stop me stumbling on unit tests that test F'all and say it passed:)
Do you think we can get him involved with some other cases like Apple/Google/Samsung etal it would be nice if someone stopped them from behaving like juvenile pricks.
Hmm I saw "A boy & his Atom" and immediately thought of "A boy & his dog" Harlan Ellison's post apocalyptic dystopia. The movie version is often referred to as the most misogynistic SciFi film ever made. I wonder if this is a deliberate reference by IBM:)
The problem is processors getting faster came to juddering halt about 4 or 5 years ago and wow now it's kicking into the 4 year upgrade cycle most firms are on oh and the economy is kaput.
I suppose its nothing to do with the fact that the PC I bought 5 years ago is pretty much still as good as those I can get off the shelf today. Other factors include the global economy being in the toilet. Of course Tablets have had an impact but the office is still mostly PC based with some Mac thrown in for good measure. Blaming M$ for the decline in PC sales is like blaming Obama for starting the War in Iraq!
Whilst there's lots of good advice about scaling out hardware & infrastructure on here no one has mentioned Performance Testing. Which I would have to say is probably going to be vital for a web app. Also don't forget to security test it properly too or you'll do a Linkedin on us.
Then there's the problem that mass extinctions happen far too regularly (roughly every 56 million years) to be caused by something as random as an asteroid impact. Probably has more to do with Galactic Orbital Dynamics but at least it's easier to predict (Approx 50 million years from now). Now can we get back to flaming trolls:)
I see this more as a knock on of PC's haven't got any faster for a long time so now even old machines that a few years ago would have been put in the skip have similar performance to off the shelf models. Add to this we're in the middle of a recession and wow it's only dropped 14% I'm amazed its not 50%.

I'm just waiting for the fly on the wall documentary :)
This is /. what the hell do we care about the main stream? My big issue is the price & battery life :)
Don't forget hurricanes!
Don't forget to mention the "Killer Laser Sharks" :)

Don't worry about the Government denying you permission for an offshore wind farm. In a hundred years all the wind farms will be off shore :)
Wow what are RIM smoking?
Now I know where our tech support department gets it's strategy from :)
Interesting point
Surely this ridiculous ban is already covered by existing statutes why are we making more laws rather than enforcing the one we already have :(
It doesn’t matter that those aren’t your team members Yes it does misrepresentation is usually considered to be fraud!
Who knew there were so many Apple shareholders on here :)
But they did make the bombs out of recycled Nintendos :)
If we're really serious about fixing the environment perhaps we should move from the Gold Standard to the Fish Standard :)
My first thought was have these guys even heard of the "Cambrian Explosion"?
