I used to be a Netscape supporter until they got bought by AOL, now I am completely disappointed by their software.
It is VERY VERY SLOW.
You don't have key combinations to send a mail (ALT+ENTER), when defining a filter, you can't add a folder from the same window (in 4.7 you could.....).
The good thing is automatic mail address collection.......
SuSE has a special infrastructure in place to build their distro on a cluster of machine from the architecture wanted. That's why they now also offer PPC support, SPARC, Intel,.... I am NOT a SuSE fan nor user (debian rocks!) but I think they have one of the best infrastructure for the future. Of only they were not so reluctant to total GPL (Yast licence....)
Is this a environment to develop applications based on web technologies or to develop web application from other technologies?
Also, in what way is it bound to gnome? Which gnome techologies are used in this soft?
It's good to see IBM releasing lots of things for Linux. If only they were against software patents in Europe....;-)
Debian is easy to install and update through the network. And there is a package replicator available to replicate an machine installation through the network. It's really great. The replicator maintainer is also very responsive. I had lots of mail exchange with him and he helped me if I needed. got to http://www.ens-lyon.fr/~schaumat/replicator/
I am a real supporter of this idea. Just one question though: why has kde to change its model and not gnome? It seems kpart is toolkit dependent, but is bonobo such a big leap forward that it's worth fogetting kparts? I just hope gnome will help the kde guys actively in that!
They just don't see the implications. It is not always meant to steal others'work. We just have to warn them, but I'm ready as another one to give 100$ to the FSF to sue people not respecting the GPL after warning.
I may not copy this binary to give it to a friend...
I may not reverse engineer it..
I may not blabla....
I am not fanatic (well, I try not to be:-) of free software. By why use such a stupid license for a driver???
Anyway, I'm happy they make a linux version:-)
And remember, people never get satisfied.....
Thanks for your answer. It's sad the GTK programmers don't matter that much on usability then. I had the problem with GNOME, Gimp, others. And I never had it with a KDE/Qt program. This click needed to activate the obviously to use widget in w window is very annoying.
I don't use GNOME because I don't like the usability of GTK. An example: when I get a window with as only widget a text box, this box is not active. Why do I have to click in this only widget to tell the computer that's the one I want to use? Raph PS1: This is just my personal opinion, I don't want everybody to agree with me... PS2: Another question: aren't the function names much too long? Why all those casts? Doesn't that come from the C choice. I'm not a grat programmer, but that scarces me. I'd prefer C++ for the UI.
Renaud Deraison and Fyodor will be present, and this could be a subject of discussion. http://www.osdem.org

GNOME wants to innovate, that's why they copied OLE to design Bonobo.....
