I expect my child to learn from many sources and question those sources regardless of how they are viewed by others. If I thought she would simply read a text book and question her own core beliefs because of that then I would be worried. But I'm not because I'm raising a person that can discover her own truth through self-education. I can help her by pointing her to the information, but only she can turn it into knowledge.

And that being said she's an atheist and I'm a Christian. I have no problem with that. Life (through God IMHO) offers us choices. It's my job to as an American citizen and also as a global citizen to ensure those choices will always be available to whoever may want them. Through any means necessary I will defend the right to dissent from religion but I will also defend the right to partake in it.

The "problem" is some people aren't okay with other people having a different viewpoint. On both sides this is happening. Those people need to be told to shut up and sit down. For too long the extreme right and left have meddled with the rest of us. This must end. Let other men be.

I think it really depends on usage. If you are a traveler and you really do use a full charge and then recharge every time you'll have a shorter battery lifespan than a home user who leaves the machine on the plug. They say 18-24 months typically (Using dell as an example) but I would bet that lifetime is significantly shortened by users who fully discharge/recharge more often.

  10. Re:Must be the newest OS fad on Microsoft Says Windows 7 Not Killing Batteries · · Score: 3, Insightful

More likely is that batteries are having their very limited lifetimes exposed to the user via the OS. Most people think a laptop battery is supposed to last indefinitely and charge the same every single time. The reality is you'll probably be replacing the battery before you replace the laptop.

What I don't understand is why 4chan gets hit like this but I don't see Verizon blocking Usenet or image boards like Rapidshare, whom I would bet have just as many "legal violations" per day as 4chan. What is a reasonable response to such content?

Looks like 4chan is shit out of luck. They need to convince people they are obeying the law or else they'll just keep getting nailed and it will get worse. Having pedo-porn posted on your site every single day is not a freedom of speech issue.
