Yo do realize, that for gravity to charge the bat, the bat has to relinquish some potential energy... you know... fall? At some point, it will have to somehow fly back up to its original elevation to continue its mission using exactly the same amount of potential energy it relinquished when it fell... with the less-than 100% energy conversion taking a toll, of course.
Not to nitpick, but the word "whomever" is only to be used in the objective case --- "whoever" is a likely correction for what you're trying to say. I don't expect an internet poster to know that, so that's why I'm correcting you now. I agree with your sentiment, and just want whoever reads your post to understand it.
Microsoft will beat linux the same way they beat any competitor: by purchasing a rival (or in this partnering with Novell) and offering the same product with ten times the marketing force.
This is superficially a good idea, until you realize that it's the slashdot crowd that will come out and vote on features. Soon enough, Ubuntu will release its latest version and we will reap the harvest we have sown. Ubuntu 8: HomerCar
Although Netscape accounted for more than 80 per cent of the browser market in 1995, the arrival of Microsoft's Internet Explorer in the same year brought stiff competition and surpassed Netscape within three years. More like "...hindered competition and outbundled..." if I remember correctly.
Mitochondrial dna already has little variation between individuals. It is always inherited from your mom and has no bearing on any physical/mental traits unless it's damaged.
There are a lot of methods for targeting cancer cells (basically, targeted poison delivery systems). The problem is, there are few superficial features of cancers cells which on a molecular level different from normal cells. There will always be some toxicity to the healthy cells because it is very hard to target cancer cells selectively.
The best experience you'll get is thorough experience in a specific discipline which is valuable. Job hopping makes you an expert at nothing and somewhere down the line, that will bite you.
Work hard in one place and it will pay off in spades.
Poorer people get leukemia more often due to unhealthier lifestyles. Poorer people are more likely to live near a nuclear power plant because richer people are less likely to live near one. The hatred of nuclear power is almost a universal characteristic these days.
That said, I wouldn't mind having a home near a nuclear plant where the property values (and taxes) are low. If there is going to be an "incident," I really don't think a difference of a few dozen kilometers will really make a huge difference in my likelihood of surviving unharmed.
The antibodies produced against such an antigen in an animal model can be screened for affinity against a whole range of other molecules such as naturally occurring molecules of similar structure. Fortunately, cocaine does not have a similar structure to many other compounds naturally occurring in nature, despite its biological activity. I'm sure that they have already tested the specificity of the antibodies produced exhaustively. To be fair, I think it's probably an ideal drug for such a therapeutic approach.
No, this technology is supposed to allow coating (functionalization in surface science) of surfaces with a layer of polymer by application of a plasma of the polymer to the surface... even elements could be coated (and thus prevented from exchanging ions and electrons with water, although i'm sure most polymers would be melted by the high temperature of the elements...).
I can't believe I'm reading this. In what field do researchers pay to have their research published? I demand you inform me, as it runs contrary to everything I've ever seen.
... and won't be asking for one. Maybe the writer of the article missed an important aspect of not having satellite/cable tv in this day and age:
some people just don't want to watch TV.

By refusing to invest in dirty crude refining infrastructure, the oil companies are artificially inflating the value of sweet crude (AKA West Texas Intermediate/ WTI). Essentially, if there were more refineries capable of handling lower quality crude, the demand for high quality crude would decrease.

Actually, I would mod this up; posts like yours make me feel much better about the universe coming to an end.
Hey, internet celebrities are just as scandalous and shocking as television celebrities. It's like beer for your computer screen.
That's very insightful. We need more of this and less of "what could possibly go wrong?"

How about this for a rationalization?

Having read all the available literature on this process, I feel it's fair to call it vaporware.
