You are all forgetting that he wrote one script, and broke it into six parts. This movie is going to be great, and just because the media is hyping it w/o asking doesn't mean he is responsible for that hype. Secondly, just because he is willing to accept marketing deals in advance doesn't make him into some souless, inhuman capitalist. He is proud of what he has created, and who are you, Jon Katz, to criticize one of the greatest filmakers of all time. What have you accomplished? Making lots of /. readers loathe your writings, and make a fool of yourself. The only reason I haven't censored you is to see what stupid article you're going to write next.

The emails that Katz posted are written by whiners who believe that they are products of their environment. They choose to be different. Its that choice that leads them into trouble. I'm a geek, and I receive some ridicule for it, but no more than the next person, who happens to be the JV quarterback. I choose not to stand out in excess, not for fear of retalliation, but because, I like to. The people that do choose to look different don't deserve worse treatment, but if you don't like the way your treated, don't flaunt it. Further more, people are made fun of because of where they are: high school. Everyone gets made fun of in high school, no matter what. I'm a geek, and experience nothing different than the next high schooler, because I choose to. These people need to realize that.

I believe that people are a product of their enviornments, not products of their parents (besides the obvious physical charecteristics). Therefore if someone is surrounded by violence, there actions will begin to mimic that violence. I also think that any and all instincts can be controlled by enough will, making the case invalid, but a violent enviornment will breed a violent population.

No offense, but I hate it when people are judged by age.

I think that age discrimination is a double edged sword. While you might have certain limits applied to you, you are also granted liberties that elders (age 21 and up) dont have being legal citizens.

I'm 19 now and for some reason it seems to make a huge difference in public perception. I look the same, talk the same, etc. But for some reason I am now somehow better being 19 instead of 18.

I totally agree with you here. Being different ages can have different things expected from you. I'm 16, and being 17 seems infinatley older.

Sorry. (Again, nothing against you. :-)

Point out that sites such as /..org exist, and are nothing more than exchanges of information. Until then, we might be forced to live with the notion that we are sexual maniacs.
