We're only getting one side of the story here. We have no idea what this product is, or how they are advertising their product. If customers are so upset that they're turning to social media to warn people away, maybe they are justified in doing so. I've seen many "Free" and "Open source" products that would not fall into what those of us here on slashdot would consider free or open source.
Is your software easy to use, easy to install, works great all year and then when it comes to the end of the year and it's time to do the books or do taxes does it become nearly impossible to use forcing most users to seek your support only to find out now that their entire financial history for the year is basically locked behind a wall of bugs, obfuscated config files and other nonsense? Now they have to pay for support they've never needed before and your fees could be in the tens of thousands of dollars? Perhaps the users we're talking about are the businesses comptroller that figured your software was free, it was no big deal and now he needs to go to management and tell them he needs $10k to do the taxes for the year? I could see how he could be rather upset by your services.
I'm just taking a wild guess but you're leaving us without any real details. I'm going to side with the customer on this one. If they are THAT pissed off, then you didn't make things clear to them from the beginning. The may be naive suckers, but if they are suckers... what's that make your company in the business of doing? Every company has to deal with idiots... but if there are enough idiots using your products, and you're making them mad enough that they are joining together against you and affecting your bottom line, you may very well deserve the fate you've been dealt.
That's what the heatsinks for. It draws the heat away from the chip and the board. Also, the max temperature of the core of the chip is far different than what the temp of several cm away is at the pins. Inverse square law and all that.
The author's a moron. Even if intel did this it would be irrelevant. Asus, MSI and all of the other motherboard manufacturers would see this as a terrible thing... they like people buying and swapping components, it makes them money... so they'd assign 1 engineer to design their own socket and be done with it in a day cause that's all it would take. It's pin for pin after all... even I could do it.
Order the chips, solder them to their own socketed board, resell for a profit... make the female socket design free to use for every other manufacturer on the planet could use it on their boards and keep the male version that holds the chip patented. Now Asus (or whomever) controls the chip market and the price... wow that seems like a terrible idea, why would Intel do that to themselves? Oh wait... they wont.
Our shredder comes with a truck that shreds it on-site. He collects the paper from locked bins we put it in, takes it out, puts it on this lift and we can watch it get shredded right there. It's not the cheapo kind of shredding you'd do in your home either, it's more like a giant grinder. Then they supposedly take it back to be burned somewhere... I guess we can't be sure they actually do that part. It's a very popular service around here.
We jumped off this cliff in 1971 in order to pay for the the Vietnam war. We've been falling ever since. It just hasn't looked like we're falling because we're all boxed up inside a Fiat currency. Now that we're nearing the bottom and bouncing off a few jagged boulders, people are starting to realize we might be screwed. I love how this "Fiscal cliff" they've invented is designed to scare everyone, even scientists, into letting them raise taxes and reduce services even more. Hilarious.
Anyone can find a match... even the insecure. Someone that has insecurities needs to find someone that's not going to do things that play into those insecurities. Flirting online, etc... It's all a matter of boundaries. The fact of the matter is, if your mate is unhappy due to any behavior you have, you need to either work it out with them, stop doing it, or end the relationship so they can find someone that wont do those things. Insecurity is relative... could you be married to a pornstar? There are men who are... and they get to know their wives are getting railed by 12 dicks all day long. How about if you're wife is a flirty bar tender? It's between the couple what's cool and what isn't.
I think the problem with facebook is that its a new phenomenon and it's effect on already existing stable relationships was to reveal behaviors that previously had been something the spouse would never see. So suddenly the dynamics of a 20 year marrige are thrown up in the air. That's a difficult situation. Facebooks effects on newer relationships is the same, though less detrimental because the couple has less time invested. Eventually, as relationships grow with tools like facebook existing from the start, it should have less of a sudden shock that it's had on some relationships that it's new to.
An email sent to more that 5 to 10 people probably doesn't need to be sent at all. Daily I get between 10 and 20 emails ranging from "Please read this update to our employee handbook, we just clarified that viewing porn, even while remoting in from home, is bad" to "Please donate some money to X charity so we can claim that we, as a business donated the money misleading our customers into believing that the company contributed when it actually was our employees." and lastly my favorite "XYZ application that you never use, have never heard of, and could care less about will be rebooted at 12am and have no effect on anyone what-so-ever"
I don't need any of it. For the love of god make it stop. If you're email is to notify me of something I might not care about and I do not need to take any action on it, then I do not want it. Don't send it for fucks sake. I have work to do and reading a 3 page email about a blood drive that you wont let me go to unless I use my lunch anyway is a waste of my time.
This is the one I got... was cheaper where I got it: http://www.landmsupply.com/department/farm/fencing-supplies/fencers/fi-shock-ac-powered-light-duty-electric-fence-energizer-10-acre-range?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=google_base
Yes, the court system is going overboard. But hacking into and nearly destroying a company should still be illegal, irrelevant of how stupid they are. A year in prison would be plenty.
A neighbor girl had fun teaching my dogs to jump my fence. She was climbing back and forth into my yard all the time and goading the dogs to follow her. They of course learned. So I went to the local farm implement store and was looking at invisible fences... they were expensive... then I saw the regular farm electric fence transformer was only $15! SOLD! A roll of aluminum wire was $5 for 1/4 mile and the insulators was another $2. So for $22 and about 2hrs work I had an electric fence.
Well my neighbors were "outraged" The little girl that had been jumping the fence was now in "mortal danger" according to her mom. I told her "well maybe you should keep her off my fence then" The fact of the matter is, I got zapped by far worse fences than what I put up when I was a kid... and while it smarts, it doesn't do any real damage to you. Apparently there's a city ordinance against electric fences in town, they pointed this out to me... I pointed out that I really didn't care and I was already breaking at least a dozen others. They called the cops... cops never came. Apparently had more important things to do.
Then, about 8 months later, the best thing ever happened (well for me anyway.) The neighbors got their house broken into. I guess it wasn't great for them. But the cops showed up, investigated, and told them there were tracks in the mud leading up to MY fence... then for some odd reason the moved over to their house, jumped the fence and kicked in the back door. The husband told me about this... wanted his own electric fence now. He said "When you stop laughing can you go with me to the store?"
Long story short... electric fences rock. 2 of my neighbors have them to.
The best value by far in shoes is Dr Martens. Especially if you drag your feet. You see, they have a guarantee on the sole of the shoe. If it wares out before the rest of the shoe, you can take yours into any retailer and trade them in for a new pare for free. I bought my first pair of Dr Martens over 15 years ago and haven't bought another pair since. I trade them in about every 1.5 to 2 years.
They already have a test... its the Field sobriety test, and it's a hell of a lot more accurate than a blood test. If you gave my mom 1 beer, and put her on the road, I'd be terrified. If you gave my uncle a 6 pack, he could likely drive just fine. But he'd fail the blood test while my mother would not. The field sobriety test on the other hand would show who really shouldn't be driving. Irrelevant of the drugs you're taking, your reaction time, focus, and balance are the only true way to measure if you should be driving or not. Because that's what matters right? If you can DRIVE? Or are we trying to do something else here?
The vote counts mean nothing other than that you don't understand how our government works. The 2 party leaders work out a deal before the vote... they already know how it's going to go. Then they pick people from their side to vote for/against it in such a way that their votes will maximize their chances of re-election. The leaders may not have enough votes on their side, in which case they have to renegotiate the bill. "Ok, I have 3 against that I need you guys to cover, so I'll throw in this tax rate increase..." Even bills they plan to have NOT PASS go through this process. One party introduces something they know can't pass and the other party votes against it... "Look! I voted against and stopped that awful bill!" It's all a show, and you're falling for it.
Now you're thinking like a lawyer. That would actually have a good chance of getting passed, and would be a lot more effective than this groups current tactics.
I think the Palestinians would readily agree to one, it's their leadership that's the problem. Bill Clinton had a deal worked out between the 2 sides back in the 90s... Israel would declare Palestine was a state, in return Palestine would recognize Israel as a state. At the last minute Arafat backed out of the deal claiming Israel was not a legitimate state, and they'd drive them into the sea. It's kind of like your drunk friend that declares he's not going down without a fight and charges the cops that raided your party. He just ends up hog tied and in the back of a van... along with everyone else at the party. Every time you talk the police into removing your cuffs your frined freaks out and starts spitting at the cops again. Doesn't matter if the cops are right or wrong... Some times you just need to suck up your pride.
Hunters are responsible for more environmental law, species protection legislation, and restoration of natural habitats than any animal rights activist group has ever dreamed of. The hunters have a vested interest in the protection of wildlife. You can't shoot something that's extinct. Wolves, eagles and other endangered species were done in by farmers, not hunters... and their recent return to northern states was thanks almost entirely to the efforts of hunters.
Remember who the primary driver of the creation of the national parks system was, a hunter, a republican, Theodore Roosevelt. "I heartily enjoy this life, with its perfect freedom, for I am very fond of hunting, and there are few sensations I prefer to that of galloping over these rolling limitless prairies, with rifle in hand, or winding my way among the barren, fantastic and grimly picturesque deserts of the so-called Bad Lands…" http://www.theodoreroosevelt.org/life/conservation.htm
...and no, I'm not a hunter. Too lazy. But I'm related to quite a few.
Not really true. It all depends on the angle of the shot. If you're shooting at over 45 degrees the chance that the bullet will retain it's ballistic trajectory and not start tumbling is so unlikely that it's nearly impossible. I know there was that Mythbusters episode... but really, they pretty much proved it wasn't possible... but you can never trust jackasses with guns so as a public service announcement they said it was still possible. Even though they couldn't in any way replicate the event.
I went through this shit... Teachers are awful. Half the time the teachers would join in. Fuck them. I remember in 7th grade my science teacher telling the class that one day we wouldn't have our pinky toe anymore because we don't need it anymore and evolution would take care of it. I raised my hand and pointed out that evolution didn't work that way. She got mad and told me I was wrong. The next day I brought in a book on evolution from the library to prove my point. I failed that class... and not because I failed any tests.
If there's bullying going on in a classroom, it's the teachers fault. Period. I've always said it's a sad truth that your children are safer in a bar than they are at school. If the shit that went down in your local high-school happened anywhere else people would go to jail.
Yea, canned hunts suck. But to each their own. It's still not illegal... in fact, that makes it even more legal because they're "property" and not wildlife. This groups free to lobby their congressmen to get the law changed. That's assuming he doesn't pull out a shotgun as well.
?? It was clearly a 12guage. The best weapon to take down an object of that size at that distance would be a 12 gauge with a choke and birdshot. That's exactly what they used. A rifle would be stupid... hard to hit a flying target and do less damage.

After reading how he hacked them, I think calling them "intelligence services" is a bit of a stretch.
Dead people don't contribute to political campaigns.
