What on earth are you talking about? The DEA is run by the Executive branch, the Justice Department is as well... This would not be a case at all, if the Obama administration had not already approved the agents to use the cameras and the justice department hadn't decided to present that evidence and argue for its constitutionality. If Obama thought this was wrong he could tell Eric Holder to drop this case, and it would have been over before it even got to the judge. Are you really that dedicated to your party that you're completely blind to reality?
U.S. district judge sided with the Justice Department to rule that it was reasonable for DEA agents to enter a property without permission or a warrant to install multiple “covert digital surveillance cameras.”
The Justice department...
The Department is led by the Attorney General, who is nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate and is a member of the Cabinet. The current Attorney General is Eric Holder.

There would be no case here if the Obama administration had not brought one.
Not defending republicans here, they are just as bad as democrats. But seriously, stop defending them like they were a friend of the people.
The Seasonal Flu vaccines of today are an enormous headache for the pharma industry. Profit margins are extremely tight, they have politicians crawling up their ass constantly, and every other year during a slow news day some report decides to do an "expose`" that drives people in hordes to get vaccinated, driving up demand (but not price) and then even more politicians crawl up their asses to ask them why they aren't "doing enough"
Don't get me wrong, drug companies suck... but flu vaccines are definitely not part of their evil plan. They will welcome this as much as the rest of us.
1. It's holloween
2. dude programed an andrino to do tetris
3. dude drilled a zillion holes in a pumpkin and turned the stem into a joystick
Is it amazing? No... but certainly creative, geeky, and fits the season.
Yes, we get that point. Just like the poor souls running across the fields into a hail of bullets at Gettysburg got the idea of preserving the union. That still doesn't mean I want to volunteer to be first man out. How many innocent people will be convicted of trafficking in child porn or who knows what else before the courts get this right? Will they ever? Do YOU want to be the one with the swat team at your front door in the name of internet freedom?
However the Dune movie was released in 1984, while Star Wars was 1977.
Dune began production in 1971, stalled and failed many times. At one point the movie was going to be 14hrs long. One of the scripts that was thrown out became the movie "Alien" (seriously) Costume design happened sometime in 1974-75, and Lucas had visited and seen the costumes. The story of the development and ultimate failure of "Dune" the film is almost more interesting than the books themselves.
Geroge Lucas is a whore and stole the entire concept of star wars from the Dune series. It's not even thinly veiled, and original drafts of the scripts even had the the princes smuggling "Aura spice" instead of weapons plans. The princess name in Dune was pronounced "a-leia" The producers of the Dune movie even tried to sue lucas for ripping off their costume ideas, which is rather clear he did when you compare the 2 films.
The man hasn't had an orgional idea in his life, and the idea that he's now selling out to Disney, the originators of ripping off other peoples work and then repackaging and re-copyrighting it (Check with the brothers Grimm) is the ultimate in irony.
The problem that people like this often overlook is the fact that the majority of the Nazies, including Hitler, were not pure "Arian" Targetting any particular race would likely kill off large portions of your own people.
Our best coders are all from India. They run circles around our in-house guys, including me. Anyone that's willing to come to this country, work hard, not break the law, and contribute to our country should be allowed to do so. The shame here is that they are getting Visas instead of citizenship. WE are robbing India of their talent... not the other way around.
The federal government, just 2 years ago was under complete control of the democratic party... They had a majority in almost all branches of government. Why weren't all the laws you're pining for passed? Oh, that's right, because they don't care. It's all nonsense they spout to get you to vote for them... their true goal, just like the republicans is power. A Goal they are very good at tricking fools like you into helping them achieve.
DARPA is part of our military... but yet, they are doing the best stuff our government is doing now-a-days. Whats up with that? They're like what NASA used to be... Call me paranoid, but when are they going to turn evil and invent the super quark bomb or whatever?
And when your 50yr old reactor goes critical, you can't send in your bot because the valves don't meet the 2014 robo-sync design spec? Every situation I can think of that involves a robot helping out, involves shit not designed for the robot... Old reactors, asteroids, Mars... If we're going to design the thing the robots fixing for the robot, screw the robot, just design the valve with embedded Bluetooth or some shit and turn it off remotely.
Actually yes, I am saying that. In fact, my primary job is as a DB admin for our companies main... well ticketing/sales/whatever/tool... and our corporate "marketing" department, and I use that term VERY loosely, scheduled a meeting with me some months ago. I wondered what it was about and when I got there, they told me they had "Big plans!" great... that's always the best thing to hear in a meeting like that. They tell me the future is mobile! Ok... We need to put the database on our tablets. No. I say... but wait! We want to put it on iPads! You're joking right? I say... They took offense to that. I asked them "You do realize that the iPad is an Apple product correct?" yes... "And have you ever seen a single Apple computer anywhere in this 12 story building?" No... "How on earth do you expect us to get this application, that is a Windows,.Net application, to run on Apple hardware?" Well, that's why we are talking to you. How are we supposed to know how this stuff works. "You're the marketing department for a mutli-billion dollar technology company. Your job is to sell this stuff... and you don't know the difference between standard OS's?" We just sell!! We have to get this to work, we already bough over 100 iPads!
Later my boss hand a meeting with me, and after we both got done laughing he said I probably shouldn't stand up and walk out of meeting laughing while Directors are still talking... but he could understand this one time.
I believe the OP was trying to make the point that there's no fucking difference between Republicans and Democrats, their all beholden to their political sponsors, and he was completely correct in that. You, on the other hand, are trying to defend your party of choice by bringing up some obscure appointment that happened 30 years ago, as if the current administrations hands were tied and they could do nothing to stop it... when you know for a fact that's not the case. Keep towing that party line and the next thing you know we'll all be monitored 24/7 by our government overlords and the president will be able to order US citizens deaths without so much as a pen stroke... oh wait... fuck... Good job buddy. Hope your children enjoy the world you made them.
You're not understanding where the governments coming from. They want someone, other than themselves, to have legal liability if there is a breach. Since all contracts, agreements, and laws are subject to the whim of the Chinese government, they could just tell Huawei to put code on their hardware and they'd have to do it. Where-as, in Australia, or the United States, there are constitutions that supersede the federal governments. The feds can come in and demand that Cisco put a backdoor on their hardware, and Cisco could turn around and site existing law to say "No, we wont do that, it's illegal."
Now, in reality, does it actually work like that? No... Cisco bends over backwards for the feds out of greed because they want them to do things like we're seeing here. But from the federal governments perspective, Cisco is doing their bidding and are therefor "Good guys"... Huawei on the other hand are at the very best an unknown. Politicians rarely see beyond their own term... and while violating our constitutional rights to ensure our safety seems worthwhile at the time... it's what the guy that gets elected after their gone does with these entrenched systems that brings ruin.
Yes, I want this. They get real freedom when they're 18. And no, I'm not worried about violent crime... I'm worried my kids will do exactly the same things I did.
But the reason Palm wasn't the end of the PC era is the same as the reason The Tablet (you seem to like apple) wont be either. They are toys. While the PC can be used for entertainment, its primary purpose is as a tool. While I'm sure there are use cases you can come up with where a tablet can be used as a tool... there were for Palms as well, the fact of the matter is, real work is done on PCs. And will continue to be done that way for a the foreseeable future. Will desktop PCs go away? Eventually... but that would require a better interface. Tablets have an inferior interface. So eventually Full VR with thought based interaction. Granted, that's likely less than 20 years off... but tablets are not going to kill the PC market. They will however kill entertainment device markets... GPS, DVD players, MP3 players... etc...
Yea, if you're a good cook, cooking for another professional Sheff may be fun... but there's something to be said about serving lobster to someone who's never had anything but day old McDonalds before. My place is FILLED with horrible horrible code... some of it goes back to the 70s. There's nothing else like hearing someone complain about some horrible process that's been around for years because X program sucks and can't do certain rudimentary things... and it makes them have to come in on the weekend at the end of every month and have 10 people work overtime to do the process... Then you go back to your desk and 2hrs later tell them they don't have to do that anymore. I had a woman kiss my cheek before. And I am not a handsome man... so that's saying something.
Pirates pirate... period. If they want to play free games, they are going to. If you lock your hardware down so they can't play pirated games on it, they just use someone elses hardware. At least you could have made some cash off the console. Oh wait... You're selling the console for less than it costs to make it so you can lock in customers and then screw them with overpriced games? Well shit... I think you just figured out why people are trying to pirate your software. Get a business model that doesn't involve screwing people over and manipulating teenagers into dumping all their cash into your shitty console and maybe they wont spend half their adult lives trying to screw you back. Piracy is such an easy problem to solve... instead you spend stupendous amounts of money trying to prevent it so that you can keep your 1980s business model. You get what you deserve.
What on earth are you talking about? The DEA is run by the Executive branch, the Justice Department is as well... although it probably didn't affect anybody on this planet.
The top of that volcano is literally "in space" it's so tall. It's possible that... way back when it did erupt, it seeded this planet with life.

Does it use Apple Maps? Because it's likely already a wreck if so...
Well, your 13yr old is smart enough to pretend to kill people and then not go out and do the real deal. Sex on the other hand...

There are no individuals in the city of Los Angeles.

I suspect that installing a countermeasure like what you suggest would just ensure that you get killed along with the computer.
