does anyone remember a show called something like:
"Deep Space High" or something like that? It was on during the 80's. It was a cartoon about a high school in space with all of these aliens, and their was this dog that looked all cute and cuddly, but when you walked up to it it was ferocious and huge. You walked away and it was fuzzy and cute again. I know that isn't much detail, but that's about all i can remember...
is metallica going back to playing in their garage because they have no more career. Wahhh. Get over it. You bitch and moan in your music, you don't have to bitch and moan in real life. If you want money, go play in the subway or something. Jeeze...
Hey, has anyone out there tried DirecPC (www.direcpc.com)? They offer something like 400kbps right now. I know that you have to have a modem uplink though... Anyone use one or know much about them?
It may not be technically possible, but couldn't they retrofit the satellites and use them as a big SETI array or something? Is there a use for something like that to them?
Curious... I wonder if the Iridium system could be retrofitted and turned spaceward to provide a large array of satellites looking to the cosmos, collecting data for SETI-like projects... Maybe it is impossible, but an interesting idea at least. Better idea than burning them up in the atmosphere...
Good! They aren't shipping so many CD's. That means that there will be fewer CD's hitting the landfills after every fad-group (ala brittany spears, backstreet boys) dries up and people learn good taste. Sounds like it's good for the environment to me...
forgive me if i'm wrong, but i would think coding would be considered a form of expression. if a van gogh painting is a form of expression on canvas, wouldn't a piece of software be a form of expression on a computer screen, or piece of paper?
i think the judges problem is that they have never coded, so they don't see it as an art form, they see software as a service, as much as your microwave is a service or your television.
Umm... might you guys want to change the "code" link on the top-left side of slashdot to take you to slashcode? Just a thought... It might get a little more interest over there...
