Times have really changed when the Counsel for Litigation and Antitrust at Microsoft is complaining about monopoly abuses instead of defending their client against them.
What the Seperatists [as I am now calling them] should do is:
* Find a better country that fulfills all of their political, economic and social needs and desires. I'm sure for many of these fine folks there is something in the Middle East, Northern Africa or Eastern Europe that qualifies.
* Pack their bags
* Renounce their U.S. Citizenship.
I see no cause that Americans should drag down these good folk with our democratic ways. Secession is utterly unnecessary.

This story really rubs me the wrong way. They make it sound like Spamhaus has their fingers on the Internet's routing tables and at any whim can block or unblock networks that they don't like. This is simply not the case.
Spamhaus is no different from an op ed journalist or a food critic: All offer opinions about varying matters of public interest. Spamhaus, in this case, publishes an opinion in the form of a list of IP network ranges. In their opinion these networks can or may be responsible for transmitting spam or malware on the Internet.
PEOPLE ARE FREE TO USE OR NOT USE THIS INFORMATION AT THEIR DISCRETION.
But why is it that when the nutters at the Westboro Baptist church want to prance up and down the street and hold viotriolic hateful signs that all of a sudden we're so quick to point out that free speech is so vital for our society? Instead of bikeshedding over whether someone has a right to form an opinion about some Dutch ISP, how about instead we talk about how the spammers are themselves infringing on the propery rights of others by crapping on the internet? Lets stop pretending that the Internet is a public resource, it's a collection of private networks.
In any case, I have been a Spamhaus subscriber for scoring mail on my network and I appreciate the work that they do. I'd hate to imagine what the spam fighting landscape might look like today without Steve Linford and Spamhaus' efforts.
Why are so many things justified with the already unjustifiable cost of a Latte? Just as two wrongs don't make a right, two prices that are too high, don't make the second any cheaper.
At least they didn't compare it to the cost of a monster HDMI cable.
These anti-spam crusaders are getting annoying. Seriously, people have nothing better to do with their time. They fancy themselves nothing short of Nazi hunters. Get a spam filter or open a gmail account.
I can't possibly imagine how anti-spammers are annoying anyone other than the dirtbag spammer themselves. And really... Nazis? Please. Your strawman argument amounts to less than even a good net trolling.
Personally, I applaud Mr. Silverstein's actions. I'm glad there's someone out there with the guts to go after these thieving scumbags.

According to ROKSO the folks who run the Canadian Pharmacy run out of the Ukraine. I'd have to say they are the most annoying bastards I've ever seen, at least as far as spammers go. I'm waiting for the day when they get their come upppance. I hope I live to see it.
should be investigated by Congress -- just my opinion, but to force customers to pay an extra surcharge per month to buy the product should be illegal but only if it can be proved that all of the wireless providers colluded to force the customer into this racket. I think the odds of this being the case are high since every provider is perpetuating this scam.
Case in point: I already have a work provided wireless device that provides a data plan, I don't need to pay an extra monthly fee on my personal mobile phone for another data plan.
All of the wireless providers are requiring compulsary data plans in order to activate a smartphone or PDA now. It's my opinion that this should be illegal, but then I guess if it was a real lawyer would've started a class action lawsuit by now. I definately believe it enriches a small few and is not in the interest of consumers.
