Cool! But, wow, wouldn't it suck for him if some new technology came out and all he had was a small amount of memory in his fancy finger. I guess it could always be replaced, but it would be probably pretty expensive.
You probably can't blame ol' Billy or Stevie for this one. The refund was probably asked for by an accountant who made a mistake when giving out the severance package.
I'm pretty sure that a few other companies use netbook as a trademark. Ex. Asus. Thus voiding the lawsuit basically. At least according to a lawyer I know.
This makes me think of all the good medical advances that came straight out of Star Trek. Like the air needle thing where you just shoot it at someone's arm and the stuff goes in their arm through air pressure. Something similar to that is being developed to help prevent the spread of HIV. And I'm sure you have all seen something similar to this cell phone blood tester in every single sci-fi film.
I think Microsoft owes Mozilla another cake. This probably saved a lot of money and a few man hours for Microsoft. Or they can just let Mozilla bask in their humble glory.
What is Japan going to want in return for this? It's only fair that we give them something. This could easily be a win win situation for us though. We maintain our commitment to the ISS, and Japan not only looks good lending out a space shuttle to the US but could also something major in return. Please reply with your idea about what Japan could get in return.
Sorry, it's snowing so hard I couldn't tell.:(
I was just saying that a lot of places are going to extreme measures to prevent money laundering and it's really something that can't be prevented on the internet.
I live in Canada though. We're not covered by the PATRIOT Act. It's more just the banks wanting to prevent money laundering in Canada when I put $7000 into a term deposit.
Recently, in the last year and a half, bank are making you cough up a lot of ID just to get a simple GIC. I was pulling ID out of my ears to get a GIC at the CIBC, but they wouldn't let me until I had people I know and two pieces of government issued photo ID. The goal is to prevent money laundering. Not a bad idea for the owners of CIBC.
There was something just like this that I used in the West Edmonton Mall about four years ago. It was being devoloped as a gaming system and as something for disabled people. I am not sure what happened to it. All of a sudden everything about it was gone online and I never heard another thing about it. I think it may have been shut down by the government.
True Crypt has a problem eh... Windows should build in a encryption program like on Mac OS X. It would stop a lot problems and it would be Microsoft managed and it would work better because they have all the code for the OS and can provide a better service. In the Mac OS, there are no bugs that I have discovered yet on the built in encryption program. I would hope that True Crypt fixes this bug because it is a great program.
NASA should look into what these people are doing and perhaps use their ideas to create a better and more durable rocket. As posted on Slashdot earlier, they are having shuttle replacement issues.
I'm not too worried about this because I have never bought anything from their third party sites, and millions of people use Facebook. I don't think that it's likely that if you are going through this that you will find someone you were looking for and be able to spy on their habits.
Wouldn't it be nice if this technology was used to make a free citywide wireless internet? We just need a bunch of people with this ambition and it could be done. I once read a book, called When A Strange Comes To Town, in which some people had the same ambition. You can get the book from Project Gutenberg if you look around. It's a newer book that has never been copyrighted.
You could just get a computer that has been donated with XP. If you get it from a special place that takes care of donated computers, they are just like new. I happen to work at one. Not only do you take care of waste but you get a computer with XP.
If you find someone who has an old XP machine, and you have an old OEM XP disk, just buy the machine and install Windows and use the activation code on the machine. I work at a place that fixes computer up doing this every day.
Recently, Microsoft has talked a lot about how secure Vista is when they won't fix known vulnerabilities. Microsoft hasn't been fixing many security issues in Vista because they think it is very secure. They have been focused a lot on fixing how slow the OS runs and the GUI because it has caused bad reviews.
I've actually installed very few apps. Just to clarify it for you, I'm receiving all of the same stuff as my friends with different apps. I still get stuff like "Free Xbox!" Or "$500 in Kmart gift certificates!" Who would want either one? Give me a Linux box and $500 in WalMart gift certificates and I might open them up.:)
Something interesting I noticed, is that since I signed up for Facebook, and all my friends that have signed up for Facebook have been getting the same spam. It's free offers and stuff. At least I don't get the enlarge my penis stuff.
It seems that our military budget is a little high... When the US makes bombs and other weapons for this war, many of which will not be used, why do they pull this? These robots prevent soldier from being killed. The support for the war is at an all time low, I think it would be better for the Bush administration to pull it. So far, however, Obama is leading and he will likely pull this and we will be able to put this expanded military budget into the wretched economy. Overall, I think that pulling the robot program was not a wise idea.
...Ever see that movie? Kind of reminds me of this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gattaca has a brief synopsis.
If you take the red dye nothing happens. You will never know. :O
Sweet. Just go back to 1979 and we can prevent it all!
... You have absolutely no power, but you act like it and if you pay a fortune, you get to throw your weight around. Love it. 3

Sounds similar to browser based Java game Runescape which recently underwent a major graphics update and now has textures and a full screen mode.
