It is official; Netcraft now confirms: IBMs_Brain is dying
One more crippling bombshell hit the already beleaguered IBMs_Brain community
when IDC confirmed that IBMs_Brain market share has dropped yet again, now down
to less than a fraction of 1 percent. Coming close on the heels of a recent
Netcraft survey which plainly states that IBMs_Brain has lost more market share,
this news serves to reinforce what we've known all along. IBMs_Brain is
collapsing in complete disarray.
You don't need to be a Kreskin
to predict IBMs_Brain's future. The hand writing is on the wall: IBMs_Brain faces a
bleak future. In fact there won't be any future at all for IBMs_Brain because
IBMs_Brain is dying. Things are looking very bad for IBMs_Brain. As many of
us are already aware, IBMs_Brain continues to lose market share. Red ink flows
like a river of blood.
Let's keep to the facts and look at the numbers.
All major surveys show that IBMs_Brain has steadily declined in market share.
IBMs_Brain is very sick and its long term survival prospects are very dim. If
IBMs_Brain is to survive at all it will be among dilettante dabblers. IBMs_Brain
continues to decay. Nothing short of a cockeyed miracle could save IBMs_Brain
from its fate at this point in time. For all practical purposes, IBMs_Brain is
dead.
Netcraft's statistics are meaningless in this, nor are user number and quantity of downloads. Theo de Raadt estimates there are more OpenBSD users than Comdex attendees.. well.. no, he's never said this (to my knowledge). Infighting in the FreeBSD camp seems remarkably similar to the behind-the-doors battles at Comdex HQ.. well.. that's an assumption on both parts..
There I was with my Beowulf cluster of GeForceFX(NV30) cards.. The duct tape glistened in the weak 40 watts of light in my parents' basement. "g1bb0r m3 T-Fl0p5!" I screamed but it was not to be. There was no joy in Mudville, the mighty cluster had blown a fuse.
Seriously, if it could tell my microwave "wait a moment, the toaster oven is on" to avoid me running downstairs to reset a popped breaker I'm all for it.
This is only/.-style "news" because Paul Allen is involved., there are other Linux-based PVRs out there. If Bill Gates created a Linux-based vibrating buttplug, it'd be front page news on/. for 2 weeks.
(personally I'd use OpenBSD for that, less chance of a backdoor assault.) :P

Not that localized spam filters are a bad thing (they aren't!) but refusing connections from known spammer IPs and the proper use of blacklists would cut down on a lot of the email traffic. Once the spam is in your inbox, its just an annoyance to you. The cost to the net has already been incurred.
Ken Lay and his band of thugs will get a fine and perhaps some time in a country club prison. OJ Simpson is a free man. It only makes sense that they put hackers in jail for life.. [/sarcasm]

Hmm.. Yup, religions are cults! Thanks for asking me to take the time to confirm what I've always assumed.
I suppose anything that supports linux or any non MS OS is a step in the right direction but, why lindows?
A couple of reasons I can think off the top of my head: a) Lindows costs them some money so they can justify not making a cheaper priced machine with another version of Linux that they download for nothing. That would hurt their Windows tablet sales. b)Windows users will feel more at home with a Windows-ish desktop.

Mark my words..Comdex is dying!
.. how well will it fit into this tight enclosure?
I could hook that thing up to my ductwork and save a fortune on natural gas this winter.

It's a well known fact that all women are pink on the inside. I saw that on Nova a few weeks ago.. or maybe it was in Hustler magazine.. whatever..

Thank you.

Actually, It would not kill the ants, but it would make for a wicked cool cryogenics demonstration.
I tried a homebrew cryogenics experiment with a fly.
It was a dismal failure.
The reason that ants will infest electronics is because they are attracted by the heat generated.
Excellent! Now all I need to do is put electric baseboard heaters around my outside walls and the li'l bastards will march right into fiery death!
