    Of course, what Apple calls "research and development" is largely development; the company does no research to speak of, instead preferring to cull the best ideas from the market place.

    Yes, Apple copied the Rio but dropped the 32 MB of memory and put in a hard disk, omitted the clunky buttons, left out the slow transfer speeds, increased the display side by probably 10x... hell put a Rio and an iPod side by side and I bet you can't tell the difference.

    No need for SCP, VirtualBox can share a directory with the host OS. I often use it to transfer things between the Ubuntu host and the XP guest.

    Mathworks (makers of Matlab) are incorporating some type of call-home function. That's one reason we're saying "ENOUGH" and installing Octave on new machines. We pay Mathworks buckets of money and they clamp down harder on us.

    VT-x/AMD-V and PAE/NX Support

    The last I recall reading about these, VirtualBox disables the support by default at their own funky dynamic stuff is faster than the more expensive switching that the hardware virtualizing does.

    I've been using VB on Ubuntu with a dual-core Intel chip. Runs XP in a VM considerably faster than the older physical box I migrated it from. Only use the real box for playing games at lunch.

    I read the thread and it sounds to me like the fellow is just wanting highly accurate results from your software.

    In any event I'd suggest, with all due respect, that this may just be a case of being pissed off at the guy. He's written about what he perceives as flaws in the software you wrote; he's calling your baby ugly.

    How often do married couples end up in divorced in this state, like 2/3rd the time? Seems like the institution of marriage was damaged long before the gays got interested in the idea.

    Around here (.ca) the divorce rate is about 50%. Out of the other 50%, how many are truly happy in their relationships? Marriage is just fucked up, few people take it seriously. Hey, if gay/lesbian/bi/whatever want to get in on marriage and divorce court let them (it is legal here). No skin off my ass.
