  9. Forensic Source Analysis on Orange County: More E-Ballots Cast Than Voters · · Score: 1

This is a fantastic example of why the source code of any voting system needs to be open, so that all 'bugs' such as these will be transparent. In this case, it's too bad the people are so starry-eyed by the fact that they can vote electronically (look ma, no ballot!) that they have been lulled into trusting the system outright.

If the source were open, the /. analysis team would be on it and already have the problem diagnosed and solved.

What we need to be asking is this:

Who fought to get these systems installed?

    Why?

A detailed analysis of the source code, along with an investigation of why these 'errors' occur, may help answer those questions.

The Lunar rocks may also be examined according to the chemicals that they contain. Such analysis indicates:

They are rich in refractory elements, which are elements such as calcium (Ca), Aluminum (Al), and Titanium (Ti) that form compounds having high melting points.

They are poor in the light elements such as hydrogen (H).

There is high abundance of elements like Silicon (Si) and Oxygen (O).

The high concentration of rare metals like Titanium, and the availability of abundant amounts of Silicon and Oxygen has led to serious proposals about mining and manufacturing operations in the future for the Moon.

Yes there is lots of stuff on the moon worth bothering with. The moon can be mined for fuel and construction materials. And while it may be easier to launch from the LaGrange point we still have to build it and get it up there. I say let's launch an army of constructo-bots to the Moon! This may seem crazy at first but the more I think about it the more it seems like a Good Idea.

End users individually suing SCO! With the idea from the Windows Refund article, how about if thousansd of end users take SCO to court for the same reasons Red Hat is..

I'm unfortunately not a lawyer but perhaps some lawyer type on here can make up a standard form letter that end users can take to their local courthouse to initiate a small claims action against SCO.

You have to be able to show you were harmed in some way.. surely it can't be that hard to prove that the FUD that SCO is promulgating has harmed your business. Small Claims (at least in NY) is good for up to $3,000 in damages so the independent Linux consultants should at least be able to come up with a couple hundred to a thousand dollars of damanges, at least for the time spent explaining to your clients what the suit is all about, and attempting to reassure your clients that all is going to be OK.

Folks, this is a problem that needs taken care of. SCO has labeled YOU as Fair Game. It's time to return the favor. Make sure to document your time!

Maybe someone who IAL (is a lawyer) can determine if this will work. If not, surely there is something else that the geek collective can do.
