Please explain. You may have some weird edge case, but while I haven't seen a movie every single day I've been a member, I have absolutely seen a movie on consecutive days. (2 consecutive many times, I think once 3.)
It's very much paid for itself already, and I will almost certainly take the gamble to lower the price even more. (The gamble that they will even be around in a year.)
Have I seen tons of movies I wouldn't have seen in a theater? Absolutely. But I see that as a positive, not a negative. While I *could* afford to see every movie in a theater, the cost was one major reason I usually went only a couple times a year, at most.
Basically, it's amortizing out to very inexpensive per ticket.
Didn't they point out the external drive support in the release notes? I had read about it before from beta releases, but I thought it was in the release notes too.
BTW, I wasn't trying to be quite so snide as it sounded.
I live in Silicon Valley, and originally got cable *for* the OTA stations, because different transmitters were 180 degrees apart, so it was difficult to do unattended recording. (I still watch mostly OTA,with some cable channel shows mixed in..)
But Hulu added the commercial free version. It's kind of lame that Hulu has a significantly discounted version of their regular service for a year but didn't discount the commercial free version too, so now the commercial free one is about 2x the cost of the regular.. But I'll still probably keep it for at least a month or two beyond the free month trial I'm using now, even though I already have cable & Tivo stuff. Even with the (one button press per commercial break) on some shows on Tivo nowadays, having NO commercials (except the annoying little "so and so show on so and so network this day this time" before every show) is THAT much more convenient, especially when I'm at the gym.
Most people complain about cable TV price.. I'd like it cheaper, of course, but for the amount of entertainment I use, it seems reasonable. I only wish there were a commercial free version of all of it, in one place (/UI). From what I've seen, netflix, Hulu, cbs all access, etc., all still don't even cover all of the OTA programming, much less cable programming.
Though I thought the topic also was about *initially setting up* the device. It needs the Internet to initially set up/set up your channel lineup/get the first set of guide data. (Obviously it needs to keep connecting to keep updating the guide data.)
Worse though, and I'm a HUGE tivo fan, is the reliance on the net for some things where data _does_ exist on your local Tivo.. e.g. View Upcoming. If you have a net glitch, you can't View Upcoming, even though that data is already on your Tivo. I do use some of the net-based functionality (e.g. Explore this show) a lot, and like it.. I just wish it could do the equivalent of what S1 & S2 could do, without the net.
I think this is creepy, then I thought of nannies. While it doesn't have any of the lie/false relationship (maybe we'll find out this whole story is fake), the nanny is paid to be there, and is also in a friendship with the kid, especially as the kid gets older. If the nanny stopped being paid, she'd leave, to earn wages elsewhere.
(While it's a fictionalized account, I recently saw the awesome movie "Goodbye Christopher Robin", and he seemed to have a better relationship with his nanny than he did with his mom.)
I can afford to not shop there, but I'd rather buy equivalent things at the place that is cheapest, including some travel time. So I mostly don't go to WalMart because there isn't a close/convenient one to me.
I will sometimes pay a TINY bit more for Amazon, due to their convenience and customer support in the very rare times there's been a problem in the past.. but if something is cheaper somewhere else, I'll go there too, even if it's some small site.
Decade*S* ago? With which phones? How did you see the destination phone(s)? What name(s) did you see? Was the recipient asked if they wanted to even allow receiving a file?
Even if the underlying technology is similar, making a usable UI that anyone can use instead of "Share mypic.gif via Bluetooth to 123.213.124" is doing something new....
If you trust the Wikipedia info, they were *called* "Children's and Household Tales", though the "Composition" info following says "they were not regarded as suitable for children, both for the scholarly information included and the subject matter." Various info, like sexual references, were removed, but violence was increased! (So that's not just a US phenomenon!)
fyi, the guy that invented the 401k said himself it's not meant for retirement. It was meant for the well to do (think $300k/yr minimum) to shore up their savings. It's a smokescreen the wealthy elites use to make us ignore the growing insecurity in life. That way they can blame the working class for not saving enough, kinda just like you did. Congrats, you fell for it.
Well, I *am* saving the maximum in my 401k every year, and have been for *DECADES*. It's grown into a lot of money.
I'm _glad_ I "fell for it". Get rid of social security, and at worst, make a 401k close-to mandatory instead.
But even if you're at the "bottom", you're probably spending money at Starbucks or something like that. Instead, invest that in your 401k or even CDs or dividend paying stocks FOR A LONG TIME.. and you will have more money than you had beforehand.
Since it's THEIR money, why shouldn't they be able to do whatever the !@$ they want to do with it? I purposefully "accumulate" money (investing as much as I can in 401k for example), rather than spending it pointlessly. (if only I had billions!)

WRONG. Cable TV was a way to get OTA to areas that couldn't get OTA.

SO close. You properly used its/it's, until....

I don't know anything about Windows' sharing, nor whatever Google demoed that's Airdrop-like..
But do you mean literally setting up file sharing, and one person logging in, etc? That's FAR more difficult than the actual AirDrop UI.

Argh, someone else posted it actually already... I'll try again though..

What do you call someone with no arms and no legs...
on a doorstop? Matt
in the ocean? Bob
etc..
Even more general, many of the Grimm Fairy Tales (and I think Aesop Fables) were very adult.
I remember several times I've seen books published about the 'censored' Fairy Tales.

and I think this one was at least decent:

Umm, I've only been on a plane a couple of times in my life, absolutely never a private jet (and I certainly don't have that kind of money).
Well, I *am* saving the maximum in my 401k every year, and have been for *DECADES*. It's grown into a lot of money.
I'm _glad_ I "fell for it". Get rid of social security, and at worst, make a 401k close-to mandatory instead.
But isn't that mostly security through obscurity?
You apparently can't read. I said INSTEAD of spending your money at Starbucks, invest it (in the stock market long long term, OR in your 401k).
But why are the numbers so different? That's a serious question.
Can't you take deductions for the company's expenses over the year? Don't you only pay taxes on profits?
But even if you're at the "bottom", you're probably spending money at Starbucks or something like that. Instead, invest that in your 401k or even CDs or dividend paying stocks FOR A LONG TIME.. and you will have more money than you had beforehand.

(BTW, I'm a huge fan of Musk too.)
In the "Mark Felt" movie, they (the FBI) said they specifically don't work for the White House.
Or do you just mean they're appointed by the White House and then are independent?
