You are presumably in the USA. Apparently, people NOT in the USA do NOT often have unlimited SMS, and have to pay even more than U.S. subscribers do. Thus, this is a money-saving program for them, especially since (AFAIK), text messaging is even more prevalent outside the U.S. than inside.
NOBODY would pay a premium for a Mac that ran Windows only, no matter how nice the box.
It's obviously anecdotal, and I can't even provide a citation, but I sure remember reading people say they did exactly this... I thought it was even here on Slashdot. Bought a MacBook, wiped it, and ran only Windows on it.
Very true but they aren't going to change industries altogether.
Apple didn't change the phone business? The carriers (e.g. AT&T) used to say exactly what was on the phone and how the network was used. Now, at least to a large degree (of course there are still agreements and limitations), the maker of the phone itself says what's on the phone and all apps can use the network, etc.
So then make the text message commands or whatever they're called lower priority than the set up/tear down commands, on the tower.
While you obviously know more than I do about how cell phones actually work, wouldn't you say that they're _essentially_ free? Since if the tower isn't being used at that moment to start/end calls, ISN'T the control channel completely empty/unused?
"Write out ordinal numbers when they contain just one word: third prize, tenth in line, sixtieth anniversary, fifteenth birthday. Use numerals for the others: the 52nd state, the 21st Amendment."
(But they also say: "Do not use the ordinal (th, st, rd, nd) form of numbers when writing the complete date: January 15 is the date for the examination. However, you may use the ordinal suffixes if you use only the day: The 15th is the date for the examination. . . . which sounds weird to me.. January 15 vs 15th.)
I largely agree with this, except that these fake eggs (based on TV segments I've seen on them) are being done for the cooking properties of eggs, not the "fake scrambled egg" thing.
Heck, if we can get something vaguely like a chocolate chip cookie that has way fewer calories, I'm all for it. (Being able to make a decent 'fake deep frying' without all of the calories would be one goal, IMHO.)
If you want to run apps with the OS level security as iOS and the same level of app vetting as the Apple App Store... why not just get an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch?
But why do you even have to be in the dealership for 45 minutes? I bought a car Dec 31, and admittedly probably didn't negotiate the price as much as I could have..
But still having to sit around the dealership for a while was a pain. I'm giving you a check, quit making it take so freaking long.
Since they're obviously mostly relying on the honor system for you to buy tickets for your entire journey, of course this is stealing. I hope they get busted.
Wait, how do you load all comments? At some point, Slashdot has (always?) broken into 'pages', at some weird place.. It's breaking by sub-threads or something, which seems reasonable, except that the subsequent pages usually/always have tons of repeated content..
Should the FCC step in and require NBC to at least provide a stream of their OTA content?
NO. You are already being "given" (in exchange for advertising that you can easily, and legally, skip with a DVR) the broadcasts OTA. (and you can already easily use a Tivo & iPad app, or Slingbox, etc., to get your own recordings to your phone/tablet)
Why should someone run expensive servers for stuff they paid for, if they think they won't make money from it?
Umm, I'm for both. There's no need for separation.
Nuclear is the best option until we can get solar or other working as well for base load, and have storage options. If we used the right type of reactors, there wouldn't be much longlived nuclear waste either.
If B&N had a trademark for the term, then yes, they would have a valid legal claim.

Except that even the smallest electric cars already have a range WAY over the average commute.

From the link they provided, you can get FREE basic internet, and IIRC, they were even waiving the $300 setup fee that the page mentions.
When did "synonym" become a synonym for [joking] "plural"?
(I've never used WhatsApp.)
Sounds a lot like MySpace -> FaceBook.
Sounds a lot like "Less space than a Nomad. Lame."

Well, this site agrees with you: http://grammar.about.com/od/mo...

Why is it time based rather than resource based?

They're not "free". The people in Western Europe pay way higher taxes.
As for your actual question, maybe there are stronger government regulations.
"The Stand" was a very entertaining miniseries. Was it anywhere near as good as the book? M-o-o-n, that spells nope.
She should be arrested just for renting that movie!
(just kidding, I haven't seen it.. I do know it was generally panned though)

Basically.. lesser of $50 or lots of extra specifics..

To be clear, I'm talking about Classic view.

Tell me when it can meet U.S. safety standards... and I drive a car (smart electric) that most people call a 'death trap' based on the size.
Umm, I'm for both. There's no need for separation.

The significance is that you're getting to use someone else's stuff (their land).
