Let me clarify this before the hundreds of comments talking about Opera and Firefox "Coming to the iPhone!". All of the browsers listed are based on Webkit, the rendering engine for Safari (in fact, I think they're all simply embedding Webkit). It is highly unlikely that Apple will allow a browser based on other technologies any time soon.
It's worth noting that Gjs may not be running with SpiderMonkey's most recent performance improvements. There have been continued improvements on the engine in recent times as engineers analyze ways for JIT compiling to make the code execution faster.
Have a video run at 3 in the morning on PBS or something. Have a recognizable figure say what the key is while it is displaying on the screen. I suppose he could also sign it while he talks.
You've only tried it for one day and you hate it? I think I understand. You see, the new location bar learns. Though this silly new 'innovation' does indeed search through the URLs *and* titles of bookmarks and history, it also learns what you select the most. Give it a few more days and slashdot should come to the top of the list. I experienced the same thing in the beginning.
When I bookmark page now I try to throw on a couple common sense tags that way when I type the tag in the location bar in the future, those bookmarks come out on top.
If you're *really* dead set on the shortest route: 1) Click Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks 2) Find the slashdot bookmark and select it 4) Click "More" under properties 5) Make the keyword/. 6) Close the window
I'm surprised no one has mentioned what a kick-ass fun house/horror house addition these speakers would make.
You're walking along in the dark and suddenly it sounds like someone is standing right behind you whispering sweet murderous nothings in your ear - or an animal growling - or just a "boo!".
How bout recording your group reacting to a previous scare and then broadcasting it from the direction you're heading. There's some freaky stuff you could do with directional sound projection. I know you can bounce it off walls too, so you could one speaker multiple times for different effects.
Capsaicin has also been shown to dilate blood vessels thus increasing blood flow to a specific area. I wonder if applying the chemical to a wound, as they are, may increase healing by increasing blood flow.
URU is a realtime 3d broadband game from the makers of Myst and Riven. Its not a game in which you can die, but it's more about exploration and puzzle solving - which might appeal more to your girlfriend. I remember reading that it supports voice over IP so you could talk with each other. The graphics are supposed to be high quality, but you'll want to check the system requirements (especially the graphics card) before going for it.
I think URU's official site (http://www.urulive.com/) might be down right now, but this site (http://www.drcsite.org/) pertaining to it is open.
Please, someone tell those that are responsible for posting these to never ever again post any information found on MozillaQuest. Please don't even bother visiting the site so that he gets hits. This guy sensationalises information and just plain makes stuff up. MozillaQuestQuest.com is a good place to point out his contradictions and such.
My question is how can we delegitimize this guy so the real media doesn't take his lies and run?
We are truly meant to be here." I used to hear this crap in sunday school. Why can't people fathom their own insignifigance? So you have no purpose, no underlying reason to exist? How depressing for you. Why do you read slashdot or get up in the morning or do what ever it is that you do? Why bother existing anyway? How hopeless life must be to lead for you.
Dipping it in mercury would make it nice and shiny, but there's the poisonous thing.
What's wrong with using mercury? We happily stick it in our teeth?
(Oh, look at what's number *3* on the hazardous substances list.)
> Firefox, in its official version, still lacks support for multi-threading (running on different processors)
Seriously? Someone from Slashdot wrote this?
Please mod parent up.
Also, the description is very wrong and needs updated/corrected.
So, if you shoot someone, you are also depriving them of their franchise, which means...
...unless you shoot them in the leg.

Golly, maybe we should release Thunderbird 3 *before* discontinuing support for 2.
You know. Just a thought.
You had me at naked...

It appears from one of the developer's comments that the localized builds will be released on Monday.
If SVG ads begin to be a problem, I think we're more likely to see the Firefox extension FlashBlock begin supporting SVG as well.
FlashBlock (formerly known as FlashClickToView) allows one to create a whitelist of flash you always want to view.

Since when is Batman, "New for Nerds?"
I donned my cape, cowel and trusty utility belt just to watch the trailer.
Don't I count as a nerd?

I'm running Win98 SE, but am also running ZoneAlarm with security on High. So I believe any attempt to access my box (with DSL) is moot.
