They did nothing more than make a few phone calls every now and then.
Yes, for a real job where you do actual work 500k for 3 guys wouldn't be that much.
But that would mean they were actually doing the job they were paid for. And then it wouldn't be news worthy.
This has been questioned before. Their simple response was that German provided more unique wording situations that may or may not work in the UI.
So it's completely about testing coverage, not winback opportunities.
This has been my experience as well, and it always makes me wonder when people complain - what are they doing so wrong that it requires hours of development time?
Once you understand the main set of issues, and test incrementally in IE, it's only a few more minutes extra.
Even if IE was a lot better at supporting standards, it would still have some quirks (just as Firefox does) and you would still spend those few minutes on testing/fixing.
It plays a few games, is big and bulky and plays a movie format I don't want.
Congrats, I'm still at $0.00
It has nothing big that makes you -want- it. So yes, $400 (for a completely stripped version) is expensive because the value is not there. I'm sure the hardware is worth the money though (since Sony loses on money on each console).
The enjoyment gotten out of a $250 Wii (which is not stripped down) is far greater (everyone can join in) compared to the PS3.
Home Premium.
And it was all based on one single article that I read a while ago, detailing the architecture plans/updates to Vista. I've lost the link however so I can't give many more details.
I had also used some Beta/RC versions and I'd grown towards the OS enough that I chose it over Linux.
It might help that I'm not an average user, but a developer and I play no games on the PC. So performance issues are less important to me.
Try getting a hold of these. They're getting rid of old stock and unless you find a backwater store, most of them won't know what you're talking about anymore.
And I've had 0 activation problems.
It runs smooth, and I don't want to go back. I also do plenty of development on it and no snags so far.
I think most people forget that Vista is a sleeper OS. A good deal of things got updated/improved, but no one will notice them because they are not being used.
When you create software on this kind of scale, you can't just make changes. You have to slowly incorporate them to build a supported base and then you introduce the products.
Most people on here forget the size of the company and the software. Linux is no comparison because it's all dislocated development. Try taking all the major componenents in any linux distribution, move the developers into 1 location. Now try to run a business off of that.

No, it wasn't obvious.
Though I haven't heard that excuse before. </sarcasm>
Do you mean throw?
Someone's toes got stepped on.

I bought it. Just because most people are on the anti-microsoft bandwagon doesn't mean there is any value to their statements.
Chalk that one up to another Linux Fanboy who doesn't understand simple concepts. Vista bombed? Right.

With the size of Amazon, that's very likely to go unnoticed.
...the site was so slow that purchasing the album was impossible. And fans just wanted to listen to the music.
