The next patch coming out is supposed to support SLI, non-xbox controllers, but says very little about the graphics performance.

I'm personally waiting to see how the forums react to the new patch before purchasing.

(This is coming from a gamer who is nervous about game performance- despite the fact that he plays crysis on full quality at 1440 x 900 resolution.)

That is certainly not what the article says. It basically mentions that while a repair shop has your car, they're going to do an inspection on possibly accident-unrelated things. In the USA we call that a state-inspection. We're subject to this yearly.

The fact is, I started off very optimistic, years ago, and believed that all men were created equal. I believed that the only obstacles were people's can-do attitude.

Years in the tech industry (specifically tech support) have definitely jaded me. I cannot help but agree with you completely! And after a while, you realize, despite your attempt to be humble about it- you can't help but realize your thoughts seem a bit conceited and elitist.

I personally try not to be elitist, or too self involved. But it's hard to ignore the facts. There are so many people who don't have basic critial thinking skills, let alone the desire to develop them, I cannot help but start to think poorly of my fellow species.

It's frustrating, and lonely, and annoying- all rolled into one. It's hard to relate to people in general.

I'd say problem solving skills, at the basic level, is a very accurate indication of overall intelligence.

Being able to read, memorize, and recite stupid facts from a book does not require intelligence. Being able to read, understand, and utilize concepts- that's intelligence.

    Same goes for computers.

I don't think sp2 will fix these issues. A 3 mb file copy is still as long as a 300mb file copy in xp for me.

Most of those requests are stupid, and don't dig down to the core of the issue. They all are asking for special circumstances to do various fair-use related activities.

The exception needs to be "except for in fair-use situations."

Imagine ripping DVDs being illegal unless you're only going to make a mashup video for youtube? Sure that's part of fair-use, but if that's all you ask for, and that's what they grant, then we're all retarded. What the hell are these people thinking?

So many times people try to fight fires at the top of the flames, and wonder why they never go out. Talk about slippery slopes, eh? See? We're fair! We can remove your right of second sales, because look- we agreed to dvd rips for youtube mashups only!
