Alternatively, Sony can put a seperate DVD track on the discs (similar to the way that Sega put the CD track on GD-ROMs for it's Dreamcast system) to make them readable on all PS3's, and then just stick the firmware update on there.
Thanks, Washington. Between the patriot act and the DMCA, you've managed to legislate one of the few booming industries we had out of the country.
Used to be, there were four things we did better than anyone else:
music
movies
microcode
high-speed pizza delivery
You're really trying to cross things off that list as fast as you can, aren't you?
Yeah seriously- nowadays, the music sucks, movies suck, and our microcode sucks too. The only thing left on that list is high-speed pizza delivery, and with gas prices getting higher and higher, I doubt that it has long to live
I still own my Sega Dreamcast that I got in 2002 (I got it when Toys R us was selling it for $50, trying to make room for the ps2). It is an amazing game console, with some really great games (Sonic Adventure 2, Soul Calibur, Jet set radio, Marvel v.s. Capcom 2, Crazy Taxi, etc.). I literally cried when I heard that Sega would stop making games for it soon after I bought the thing.
well, more like script-kiddie, but w/e
I've been thinking about picking up COBOL, partially for the challenge (it seems to be much harder to use than more modern languages, like C and Pascal), and partially for the potential jobs.
Think about it- most state computers require COBOL, and lets face it, the few COBOL programmers out there are getting old awfully fast. I think this is an excellent time to learn the language and land a pretty decent job with the gov't.
A recent study of the recent Radiohead album release found that huge numbers of illegal downloads actually helped the band's popularity and, by extension, concert ticket sales.
Concert sales = more money for band
Record sales = more money for big companies
Guess which one is more important to the music industry?
I'm still waiting for my G5 powerbook

It's interesting that the G1 (which I have) and the iPhone are the only "smartphones" which such crippled bluetooth stacks.
The G1's bluetooth isn't crippled anymore in Cupcake (which is coming in a month btw)
Biological huh? Perhaps that's why the Mars Polar Lander stopped communicating as soon as it landed- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_Polar_Lander
Sega Dreamcast is what it's all about!
Chuck Norris kills people!
or is wikileaks down? I keep getting a Time Out error every time I try to access it

But can it run Crysis?
You would think that the chances of space junk hitting the ISS from a mile away would be zero

That makes Linux better than your girlfriend.
People on Slashdot have girlfriends?
it still won't be able to run Crysis
I honestly don't give a rats ass at how violent it is. This game actually looks fun. It's been a long time since Sega's come out with a decent game

It was basically copy+pasting, except instead of 2 seconds it took 5 minutes.
