The most assured way to maintain the cover-up, that the moon landings were fake, is to prohibit anyone from approaching the original sites!
My thoughts exactly. I also find it odd that every picture taken is from a lower point surrounded by nearby hills which prevent any longer views. There's not a single shot that I'm aware of from the top any of those hills looking over a larger moon landscape. Why is that?
The Army has tremendous resources at its disposal and a higher need for security than most. Wouldn't it have made sense to move to a BSD-based OS with Open Office? They'd have much more control over the feature-set, much higher security and no license issues. On 744,000 computers the licenses alone would have been 37 million assuming they only paid $50 per computer for Vista. Add the Office licenses on to that.
We ported our DB to Postgres and never regretted it. MySQL is good for read only apps (such as web applications) but it isn't well suited to transaction oriented apps. Postgresql is faster and more reliable.
If you are using Windows, you uninstall it just like any other piece of software including MS Office.
You don't have to opt in to anything. You have to agree to the license which basically says you are free to use it your heart's content but if you convey it to someone else you have to convey that right as well. Where's the problem?
I've read a couple of these anti-Open Office, anti-Open Source posts and they all seem to have the same irrational point: "I installed OO and it took forever and after that I had to reboot windows, sell my house and work as a slave in hot fields in India."
It's good software, it's free and it works. Use it if you want to. If you prefer to pay several 100 bucks for the same from MS, you're free to do that, too.
Well, I'm sorry to hear that. I installed it with a single click (on linux and not much more on Windows) and in about 10 minutes. Don't know what you're doing wrong.
If you installed it on Windows and you had to reboot Windows 3 times, perhaps the problem is Windows.
And besides I've been using OO for a couple of years and my buddies at work are constantly amazed that I've been able to everything they can with their $450 MS Office package, read all their files, including Macros. Some day, though, they will actually find something that they could do which I couldn't, but they haven't found it yet.
Interesting website. Thanks for posting that. Perhaps a better metric would be murders per capita. The US has.042 per 1000 and Germany.011 (3.8 times). And murders per capita with a firearm the US is 6 time higher than Germany.
You posted crimes per capita but we are talking about violence here and it would appear that Germany is doing something right.
$750M would pay 1500 employees $100K/Yr for that same 5 years. At the end of 5 years, a 1500 person development team (with help from the public) would have turned out one hell of a secure linux/BSD distro.
My thoughts exactly. It's amazing how much money is wasted in government.
Folks, they're not using XP (or any Windows for that matter) for the things that really need to be secure. They are probably using a variant of BSD or Unix for those things.
I would guess they are using XP for the masses where information security is impossible anyway.
Actually, it is the proprietary crowd which loves to take code from the open source crowd for free and sue if someone else codes anything similar in any way to the code they stole.
I think google should simply take AP off their service. There are so many news sources most of which are happy to have google index them to bring more traffic to their sight. Adieu AP and don't let the door hit you on the way out.
They don't understand what the terrorists wanted as a totalitarian regime in America that would stop exporting our culture and stop showing the world the virtue a freedom.
Well, isn't that what we had with Bush? I mean, he was the first candidate to actively push for NOT counting votes. He passed the Patriot Act. Sounds like a terrorist's dream.
I think alot of people feel that, if Obama continues down the same road as Bush, that all hope is finally and irrevocably lost, a thought that is so scary, most of us just can't accept, at least not yet. I want to give the man a chance, but, when I hear that they are using the same arguments the Bush admin used, I truly fear for my daughter's future.
Hmmm. How is it that you are "forced" to live in France? You remind me of so many US immigrants who live in the US, get welfare in the US and complain about the country.

Maybe Ubuntu shouldn't target the Win Power User
Ubuntu targets the average Windows user who, more or less, is using his PC to access the internet plus doing simple Office tasks (spreadsheet, docs).
There are alot of people who really don't care about Windows games.
You seem to be unaware of the fact that the department of homeland security is run by the federal government, not Texas.
Created by an installed president from Texas.
Shouldn't they just wait for W7-SP1 then, rather than moving to Vista and later moving to W7?

31337?
I think Ford patented silence.
"Silence is the sound of a well made car."
Munich, Paris, French National Police, CERN, etc.

The initial terms are only valid through 2010. After that they can charge what they want.
But, I hope Theora will be a force to keep them honest. I'll opt for a Theora source where available.

Scary. And to think some people willingly pay extra money to buy virus infected software from this guy?
quality Microsoft
I'm confused. Which one is it?

...and much safety and security is had by all.
Apparently not. Germany has a lower crime rate and a much lower violent crime rate than the UK.

Everybody knows that patenting IP is like patenting math.

Few patents target software per se.
Many patents begin with the text "Method for ..." and do not reference hardware at all.
