The majority of servers running SSH rely solely on username and password authentication. A strong, unique password known only to a single user is the most secure protection available. Certificates don't add shit on top of that in terms of actual security.

The actual writing/typing of code is by far the least of my worries and by far takes up the least of my time. Design, logic, security, testing, etc. take up the vast majority of my time. Actually writing out the code is trivial.
