Felt isn't exactly a boon to society because we had clothing already. And we're specifically talking about HATS, dude.
And no, I'm not uninformed about DDT. The whole egg-shell thinning thing is bullshit. As was the whole cancer thing, which the WHO has finally admitted, and now allows DDT for use in houses. Too bad it doesn't work anymore.)
"My point was that saturation to a given efficiency happens quickly."
You know that doesn't even make sense, right? Saturation to efficiency?
$1000 / month last year? What month was that? Let's assume January. 6 months in? You've had the panels, at the earliest, since July of last year. At the latest, the graph you provided is for June.
So you've had your panels for 6 - 12 months.
You don't know shit about how they degrade over time, get dusty/dirty, and vary day-to-day.
You got the best panels available as of 6-12 months ago, and are claiming that dust doesn't affect them? Gee, you might want to sell those panels to NASA."
Just read the fucking manual for your panels. It recommends cleaning them periodically.
They connect, become a seed, and anyone who sent them that data (to become a seed) is guilty.
They have the file that you sent (parts of) and they know it isn't gay porn.
As a seed, they can monitor and get a list of IPs, and they can go after people specifically.
Anything they send out as a seed doesn't matter. They're the copyright holder and they have the right to make available. But they can easily show that others were sending to you, as well, and that you were sending to others.
Fire up another client and manually add IPs from your list, don't connect to a tracker at all. Even if they only get pieces, they can show that the pieces are almost certainly pieces of their work, since they passed the hash check.
Yeah, it's an IR camera. We typically have IR emitters with those. The Wii has an IR camera and IR emitters.
It can't sense actual depth in the scene, silly. YOU don't understand the tech. It gets a 2D image back and tries to fake some depth. Hell, it has problems seeing black people because of this. It's not FLIR.
And I don't think GM and Chrysler will be racking up the sales unless they can put put out the same cars they've been putting out for well under $10,000.
Bottom line: Person stripped and molested a child.
It doesn't matter whether or not the person thought they had the authority to do so, nor does it matter whether or not anyone thought they had the authority to do so.
What matters is whether or not they had the authority to do so, and whether or not they did it.
They sure did, then there was a law drafted that included virtual child pornography, but the drafters said it would only be used to attach additional charges onto people who have real child pornography.
They recently used the law (successfully) in the case of the guy who had a bunch of manga and some hentai. They're using it now in this case.
The overlap makes it much less likely you'll fuck up.
I also did shit like 606565066 and read it as sixty six fifty-six fifty sixty-six. Even if read it aloud, people wouldn't be able to figure out what the fuck it is.
Just yank on that bitch. If shit breaks, fix it. You waste more time and money, along with what little dignity you have left, by sitting around discussing it.
If you can't yank it, cut it. If shit breaks, see above.
If you can't cut it, melt it. If shit breaks, see above.
If you can't melt it, dissolve it with acid. If shit breaks, see above.
If you can't dissolve it, rust that bitch out. If shit breaks, see above.
If you can't oxidize it, unscrew the window, take it out, and put a new window on since you're so fucking terrified.
If you can't do any of the above, just fly with the fucker in place. You're going into the same conditions that got it there. As long as the glass isn't cracked, you're good.
Except that no one thought felt hats were a boon to mankind, and DDT was in fact NOT causing the problem. (Shit's getting even worse long after we've banned it. Will we unban it? No.)
We had this in America with barcode scanners. It never took off, because it was a dumb gimmick. I think you can find them in some bookstores still. The idea was you would take a CD to the headphone kiosk, and then scan the barcode, and get sample tracks, more info, etc. They quickly realized having people move CDs and put them back in the wrong place or not at all was retarded. And that making people physically find the CD was an unneeded step. Now you just go up and browse their DB with a web interface.
They still have this in Japan. It's a 2D barcode (on ads, products, etc.) you point your phone at. It looks shit up online for you.
I never saw anyone in Japan ever use those things. They were everywhere though. Such as a box of koala cookies, each box has 1 of 6 different tops, collect all the tops, get a little animated koala or something, enter a contest, I don't know. I didn't have a phone with me and I don't read Japanese.
You can tell what it is very easily. Just connect to the same tracker yourself.
We still know who's sending data, to who, on what ports, etc.
Just log on to the tracker, download shit you own the copyright to, list yourself as a seed, and then sue the shit out of anyone trying to get shit from you.
It's harder than getting morans who use limewire, sure, but it's not rocket science. The encryption is not a security feature (since we know that the RIAA/MPAA/etc. never need actual proof), it's more of a FUCK YOU to ISPs who shape and block bittorrent traffic.
5 years from now? Sure, stuff will be better then, but still a gimmick.
Imagine NOT clearing your desk and looking at the same 3D model of a galaxy, spinning right in front of you, or taking a tour around the solar system right there.
Holodeck? You mean a movie theater, right?
Building a 3D representation of shit quickly is good. You can fly cameras by an area and do a few passes and have a 3D model for people to explore.
Tying that to a special device they have to look at and position is a gimmick.
All that has happened is that scanning shit in 2D and turning it into 3D has gotten faster and easier. This is not new nor is it newsworthy. This shit was done for Terminator 2 (most notable example most people have seen, nowhere near the first).
If this tech were anywhere near ready and anything but a gimmick, the porn industry would be pumping obscene amounts of cash into it, and we would have had some very interesting content by now.
P!
This isn't off topic.
It's insightful.
Information, including your SSN, wants to be free, right?

Notice the date. DDT was banned in 1972, and guess what, it doesn't persist for decades.

Notice the ol' half-life in water of about 2 years, and 15 in soil. And we're talking about a beach here!
But go ahead and believe the green!
No, the court ruled "I don't know, so uh, you can go".
No court should EVER rule that.

It won't.
The pressures would be the same.
If the glass made it through with no issues, then it'll make it through again with no issues.
If it has tiny cracks, then it might not survive the next launch.

Almost everyone's losing money right now.
The largest tumor on all 3 of them is the UAW.

7 billion.
What about real child porn with granny faces?
That shit already flew.
They got a guy for having hentai.
They sure did, then there was a law drafted that included virtual child pornography, but the drafters said it would only be used to attach additional charges onto people who have real child pornography.
They recently used the law (successfully) in the case of the guy who had a bunch of manga and some hentai.

Many people said (and still say) the same thing about homosexuality.
For one of my old wep keys I used the 0s as markers.
For example: 1622438408127665407
I'd chunk this out and read it as
Sixteen, twenty-two, forty-three, eighty-four, oh eight.
Eighty-one, twenty-seven, sixty-six, fifty-four oh seven.
The overlap makes it much less likely you'll fuck up.

No. You can be prescribed low-dose, over-the-counter, children's aspirin by your doctor.
These were not prescription-only drugs.
Wait, what?
The supreme court fucking said that they can't be held liable because they didn't know the law?
WHEN THE FUCK WAS IGNORANCE OF THE LAW EVER AN EXCUSE FOR BREAKING IT?
No it couldn't.
Car fuel isn't the only things that require oil.
Hell, the car and the road itself require oil.
Everyone focuses on cars, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.
"All substances are poisons; there is none which is not a poison. The right dose differentiates a poison...."
What about ambrosia?
Except that no one thought felt hats were a boon to mankind, and DDT was in fact NOT causing the problem. (Shit's getting even worse long after we've banned it. Will we unban it? No.)

We had this in America with barcode scanners.
