    I personally have trouble differentiating ASCII graphics. I have no clue where things end and begin in games like ToME and Dwarf Fortress. 'Simpler' games like Nethack or even ASCIIsec do a much better job with that

    Well, bully for you; you have personal preferences. You are not a standard to base everyone by, you know. You might like a minimalist environment, but a random bloke down the street might not. how much RAM does Ubuntu 9.04 need? I'm sure 4.10 needs a lot less than that to run comfortably. Why bother upgrading past that? Why even bother installing anything past, say, Qdos? You are only spewing FUD here, my friend. RAM is not the sole metric by which an OS' worth is measured...

    What I want to know is why there is such a dearth of 20 1080p monitors when there are 17 inch laptops with that resolution? Are those laptops misrepresenting the resolution or something? Hell, 16 inch 1080p displays exist.

    It's not entirely about the OMG lifetime milez, it's about new avenues of energy production. Even if a fraction of this ideal turnout is done, it will reduce our dependency on oil and coal a good deal.

    Problem is, it takes a sense of logic to appreciate a sense of logic. Most of the people referring to IT do not have that sense. They justify their demands by reasoning that

    "oh, those IT fuckers are too damn lazy. They say they have a thousand open tickets, but they really only have 2 or 3."

    Or

    "They are too lazy to address those tickets fast enough."

    Or maybe they just fall back on the old standby

    "MY request more important than those others. do mine first."

    There is only so much one can take before their logic circuits get overloaded, and they default to the Jackass Mentality.
