From what I have seen, All plants Power/Water/ Oil & Gas use a handful of the exact same Control systems products (Honeywell, Allen Bradley) and software... with minor configuration changes across plants.
These control systems are just more specialized computer systems, if an exploit were found for any one... that would render any of them with a link to the outside vulnerable.
And yes some people are stupid enough to hookup a Process control network to the internet... lukcily in that particular case it was caught and rectified by the manager.
has nothing to do with retaliations for rockets fired. It is all due to Internal israeli politics.. the upcoming elections in Febraury is the prime motivator for the offensive.
The leader that can kill the most Palestinians and can rectify the embarrassment of Lebanon in 2006.. will come up ahead in the elections.
The Israeli presidency is what is at stake here and The currency is the Palestinian body count.
this might sound a bit stupid.. but isn't storage of energy completely independent of its source be it wind, hydro etc.
or is there something special or uniquely challenging about storing wind energy i am not aware of ?
Issues like version history to track changes.. and auditing capability already built into file servers should make this easy to deal with.
In my company we use Live link externally and share point internally.. seems to work for us.
of course it cannot track what a person who has 'access to the document will do with it ' i.e print or share with someone els.
This Issue is not black and white as most people think. This piracy has been going on for more than a 15 years off the coast of Somalia. In the past the targets were usually Japanese boats illegally tuna fishing a few miles off the north-eastern coast.
back home these men are not looked upon as pirates they were a de facto navy for so long. believe it or not they have certain code they follow which is largely based on our nomadic culture.. they have not hurt a single hostage nor are they interested in doing so... their hostages are treated with respect and food and water are shared equally among capture and captured... they are not locked up or anything like that.
I admit the last few months what they are doing is beyond the pale.. but I cannot help admiring the the courage to take on a vessels of that size with dingy motor boats.
contrary to what many articles report they are nowhere near as organized as they would have you believe.. the whole hi-tech thieves things is BS... granted the last 'pirate' boat i've seen was about 13 years ago.. but the only thing these guys have got going for them is the 2 steel spheres in their shorts
While the parent should be modded flamebait, I'll bite. You do realize that there has been virtually zero western influence in Somalia for years?
you do realize that Ethiopia who is currently occupying Somalia and has been for the last 2 years was given the go ahead by the states department and directly financed by the EU.
far stretch from virtually zero influence don't you think ?
In the case of signal strength the IEEE fellows decided not to standardize how different manufacturers calculate the RSSI (Received Signal strength) for the antenna. just that it be a ratio showing signal strength and left the implementation detials to the vendors.
what this means is that a signal strenght of 70% from vendor A may be much stronger than a signal strength of 100% from vendor B.
not to take a crap on the hardwork of the Engineers involved... but this is probably the only part of the 802.11 network that a 'novice' user is interested in.. and at the bare minumum it should have been standardized.
are these the same laws that ban muslim girls from receiving an education because they choose to wear scarves ?... plz explain how that protects you or anybody else ?
while in the EU you go to jail for holocaust denial... and the U.S government tramples on every human right there is... some ppl on/. point finger up north.
maybe its time to invade canada ?
Yeah, they're "fixing our government"? Is that what you call killing 3000 innocent civilians in one day?. the problem with you Yankees are beleive this BS... 3000 in a day is nothing compared to what your governments brings to bear on other nations.. Japan, Indonesia, Somalia.. how about US sponsored genocide in Palestine.. Hamas is a democratically elected government of its people you fucktard you cheer lead democracry just as long as you agree with the results.
american soldeirs are directly responsible for more than 600, 000 iraqi deaths and over the last 5 years and you keep whining about 3000 who died more than 7 years ago.
they were innocent i get it... but so are they ones you guys are killing... forgive me i did not get the memo that American lives are more valuable
What is the story hear ?
did anybody think that Cyber Command was only interested in Defense ????
who do you take me for.......... my tinfoil hat may be in the closet but it hasn't started collecting dust yer
Can any of the more experienced developers comment on this approach from a application desing point of view.
the whole idea of a username/password is a combination of information that is unique.
everybody on/. may have the same password but cannot have the same surname/password combo
The sample size we are talking about here (speed of typing)seems very small there has to be X number of users that type with the same speed unless there is another factor involved that is used in combination ?
This does not seem like a bright idea at all.
I was eating lucnh at my desk (yeah i know i know.. )
and i logged into/. by typing with one hand which is not how i usually type..... there is just too many scenarios that go against this approach
^^ props for actually understanding the difference between Sharia Law , and how certain governments choose to implement it.
for a group of supposedly informed people, you guys disappoint. first instead of taking the article at face value
where is the skepticism that is usually associated with people who are taught to think critically ?. first ask , does sharia Law actually condone a death sentence for criticizing your government ???
In Islamic sharia there are only a handful of issues you can be sentenced to death for !, and criticizing your government is not one of them.
a simple Google on 'Death sentence' + Sharia Law isn't too hard. but I guess if you were told Muslims eat their children for dinner you would have no trouble believing that.
As much as I like to blame America for what's wrong in the world these days (And they are to blame 99 % of the time).
Where I'm from (Somalia), weapons are probably where you see the least American influence. The most common weapons you find are Chinese, Libyan, Russian made AK-47's. Although the M-16 was becoming popular when i was there last time. especially for it's light weight.
And similar to what the Original poster noted, our Telecommunication infrastructure is one of the top in East Africa, it is a True free market, absolutely no regulation, no taxes.
But aside from Telecom everything else in the whole, completely unstable, 17 year civil year, puppet interim governments (we have our version of Hamid Karzai).
^ I can guess you are not an Engineer or a Scientist
Yaser Arafat, was a democratically elected leader of his people, just because the U.S does not like him does NOT make him a terrorist. !!!!
like someone already mentioned above, the word 'terrorist' has already lost it's meaning
I'm guessing Chavez is a terrorist is well ?, I hate people with sheep mentality think for yourself what the hell has yaser arafat done to be compared to osama ????
"Wang Wei crashed into and crippled a US recon airplane forcing it to land in China"
And what do you think the U.S would have done to a chinese recon plane ???
Reminder: you do not own the world, that is a valid response of any government that has the capability, the only reason it is not done more often, is that other governments don't have the power to do it.
Nobody is immune from scam's Happened to a good friend of mine , who has been working in the IT industry for > 15 years. The money he lost in the scam was nothing compared to the loss of credibility it had a really bad affect on his contract work when word got out.
common if you see 'Nigeria'+ 'transfer money'+ 'you get 20%'+ 'obvious bogus name'
you don't think somethings wrong you are not worth the paper you're degree was printed on. Now he is really interested in the Security Area.
