Just to Preface, All words below are my own opinion and are not the opinions of my employer...
Having said that little disclaimer, I am a tech with UPS, and have had the experience of having shipped (and recieved) many computers via this service, and also sent my own computer via UPS & Fedex.
The service (and box damage) is not much different.
But I always made sure to get the extra insurance, never needed it but...
Also as part of my job, I do claims inspections on computers.. From the pictures, I would recommend a denial -- improper packing. Peanuts & bubble wrap are not good materials. Stryform inserts, like the cases orginially shipped with, are what is needed. They provide support & buffer room.
And yes, remember the people who handle these packages take "fragile" as a challenge...
What's even worse is the total disregard for cultures other than our own your post shows - there is nothing inherently better in modern Western culture than in traditional Islamic culture
I agree there's nothing inherently better in either society -- but I think everyone should at least be allowed to learn their options -- let the better society for the person win -- which I think will often be the one with more choice for the individual.
Thinking one society is better is what lead to this diaster in the first place.
Well, no. It's not an investment that has any sort of promise attached. In fact, there's probably a section of the warranty covering this. Unless the gamer can prove they intentionally manipulated the market..
So trying to corner the market may be viewed as bad, but otherwise..
Well, adding my 2 pennies, I used to Quad-boot:
WinNT for apps (stability)
Win95 for games
Linux for trying it out (this was a few years ago)
& Dos for, well, just to have dos.
But now I'm down to 2: Windows for games and Linux for apps. Most users do not need and/or want to boot multiple os... I'm just waiting for blizzard and loki to merge so I can format that darn c:\ (/dev/hdb1) permantly....
And I usually qualify as a geek...
Hmmm. Spend hours trying to get to some neat thing, or trust windows to find it for me? Maybe I better burn a "backup copy " first :)

Darn, I knew the right religion for me would finally surface!! Where's the membership form?
Now, if I can only find the endor'os...
