A good PC keyboard at that time alone was north of $100. However it was a good, quality keyboard and not permanently built into a cheap plastic consumer grade device like a commie or amiga.
I, on the other hand, was unimpressed with the locked down propritary designs from a single source supplier that Commodore sold out of department stores to consumers.
3-1/2" disks are demontratably less reliable. The open air enclosure and shutter door act as a lint trap. Users are encouraged by the physical design to carry the disk around loose and unprotected. Whereas a 5-1/4" diskette transferred from the drive to a tyvek sleeve is sealed from the elements much better. For the kind of tard who leaves a diskette exposed out of the sleeve, perhaps a 3" disk is nominally better.
Computers constructed out of clusters of ASICs are a stopgap measure to compensate for slow central processors, and not "ahead of their time."
It's more the kind of propietary design a company would engage in to attain an "edge" in a market. A way to get a multimedia entertainment computer out ahead to consumers.
I used to use Microsoft's "Streets and Trips" software which came self contained on a few CD-ROMs that I installed on my pc. When I wanted to go somewhere I would laser print a few maps. No internet connection even needed on the pc.
Indeed. I have gameboys that are ancient and were owned by destructive little kids for probably their virst decade. They've held up and protected the electronics inside. It's nice, in this era of modern mobile hardware, to have replaced the display windows with hardened glass.
I wouldn't exactly call it a 'government' of Saudi Arabia, though they have had a long successful history of pulling it off. Saud is a family name. It's just a dynasty of arabs who have garnered a lot of support from rich western interests. For a long time now.
I was speaking more to a time in the future when the digital license is the only option. But who am I kidding? By then we will all be assigned our 'phone number' at birth.
Why an old iPod Touch? You can get a no-contract current Android phone for under $30 without even looking hard. For less if you shop around a bit. They work fine on wi-fi to set up whatever is needed.

A plumber, Thomas Crapper, invented several key features of the modern flush toilet, which is how the word crap got it's meaning.
Apple just needs to deprecate 'Dumbquotes' to default as off, so people with iGadgets don't spam us with buggy comments.
NetBSD will never be SystemD ready.

Nope. Without symbiotic parasites we'd not survive long. That's part of the complicated unsolved problem of living in space.
Was it an "investment" or did you buy them to have fun playing the games?
I have every GBC and GBA rom on my phone. They are small enough to just have every one in a folder on the removable SD card.
Are these things being sold in the south Asian countries where almost all of the ocean-going plastic waste is being dumped in the rivers?

All he did was drive him around?
Few really care what you think.
Results are what really matter, and if the flotsam that in the end swirls down the drain includes Trump himself, that's fine with most of us.
Are you the whataboutism elf? Double down, dood.
You've misspelled Kennedy.
It was 18 when I was a 17 year old college freshman. Boy was I pissed.
That sucks, the cop is dead, but the door of your car is mangled beside him.

I'm a nerd, so I've collected all editions of Tanenbaum. I don't run Minix regularly, but I have it and run it sometimes.
The original Minix booted off floppy diskettes and would run on an IBM PC-XT, by the way.

And, again, Obama did it with his drone attacks. But let's just leap over that whole era and back to Bush.
And Obama with his drone attacks? Or were you on vacation for eight years?
