    Paper 696
    Embodied Scrum
Abstract: In the same way it is not necessary for an ant to understand complex system theory to be a good ant, a
scrum master need only understand the rules of being a scrum âoeagent.â But unlike the ant, the scrum team member has an emergent sense of free will and agency that can make it difficult to embrace the simple and seemingly arbitrary rules of the scrum process. One approach to fostering an embrace of the bottom-up nature of scrum is to teach scrum masters the basic principles of complex systems theory, illustrating the power and ubiquity of self-organization, emergence, and adaptation. This paper represents one possible presentation of complex systems theory in accessible language, targeted to scrum masters. Additionally, a case is made for the relevance of first-person embodied practices for developing high quality sensory signal interpretation, i.e. radical empiricism.

The subsidized pricing and in-store activation came later.

But some cell companies (or all) will do you the "service" of renewing your contract if your SIM shows up on the network in a new phone, so maybe that's not what happened.

Yeah, but who cares if AT&T has to listen to people whine? Maybe by being vocal they'll get to have their cake and eat it too.

I still agree...if you want special phone pricing, you wait till your contract is almost up and you twist someone's arm. That's how it's been since the beginning of time. But I've got a 2G iPhone and about a year left on my contract (waited a while to activate) so if these people get their way, you won't see me complaining.

I think I read more into your post than what was actually there. I'm sorry.

Caffeine does help a little bit but so far for me the thing that's helped the most was just realizing what I had. Even the medication won't help if you don't let it.

I'm sure there are different degrees of it, but the best description of it that I read was somewhere in this thread...somebody said it's like a buzzer that's set to go off every 30 seconds or so if you keep your mind in one place. It's a strange feeling.

I was on pills in grade school then I got off them. Then in high school I started up because I thought it might help. I'll never forget the first day. I got to school and I sat down and started talking to a friend. Right away she said, "is something wrong with you? You're acting different." At the time I thought she must have been psychic, because I wasn't doing anything or saying anything that I wouldn't have normally said and done.

But it was probably the first time she had ever seen me sit still without fidgeting and actually look her in the eye. And this is me at probably 18 years old. Everyone in the thread is saying, "that's how kids are supposed to act," and that may be true, but I'm not a kid and I still can't sit still. Even driving.

Caffeine can help a little bit but if I were to have enough caffeine to get that kind of feeling where I don't have to squirm around, my heart would probably explode out of my chest. The medication is just uppers, and of course caffeine is one too. So I get what you're saying. And it's not like they're a miracle cure, but they are somehow different from caffeine. It's not just about having enough energy to do things, it's about having enough energy to short circuit the ball that's bouncing around inside your head. I'm actually not that energetic in person but there's just always that twitch, it's hard to explain.

I agree, it's a blurry line between a religion and a cult, and as an atheist I find it all equally silly, but at least we can say that there is a spectrum, and mainstream Christianity is on a different side of that spectrum from Scientology. You can knock the Catholics, they won't make death threats against you and your family.

Have you ever read half the stories on Xenu.net? It's pretty disturbing what goes on in Scientology. Better to just be informed than to over generalize.

I think the specific fraud issue here is that they are making those sort of tv psychic hotline claims...we'll make your life better, eliminate sadness, just give us some money...but they're not saying "entertainment only" in the legal copy.
