While $300 mil may seem to be alot, there are a few things to consider. Dell isn't just replacing the caps, for the most part they have been replacing the motherboards. They sell around 12 million of this line a year. Not too forget the costs involved with shipping and all the tech support hours that are being devoted to this. That $300 mil number comes into play quite quickly.
Is it me, or are we finally entering the era when the specs on these new machines sound made up? It seems like in a couple more years after this our processors will be going like Warp 4 or something...
As is my understanding, the biggest problem with using a cell phone isn't the inteference "problem," it has more to do with the way cell phone networks function. For the most part the networks are designed to radiate horizontally not vertically. When moving at a high altitude quickly, you are exposing the cellphone to several cells of the network at one time, which causes innumerable problems for the provider. Apparently one cell phone being used in the air is the equivalent of several on ground.

I will take this opportunity to discuss my hatred for the GIF. I absolutely hate GIFs. I think they are a dying fromat anyway, Jpegs are much easier to mess with and offer similar cmpression sizes. Besides I see less and less websites depending on GIFs everyday. It just drives me crazy that photoshop cant use GIFs without having to use a special plugin or importing technique. I hope that company gets screwed over for lisencing a what could have been an open useful standard.

I have been using macs since the 512k, everybody knows Macintosh GUI was not an emulation of the Microsoft GUI, at that time, THERE WAS NO MICRO$OFT GUI!!!!! -themeistre

I completley disagree, especially when you consider how bad the first season and a half was(i.e. the homer as bigfoot episode for one). The quality of the show is not much different than it was before. For example last years episode when they were at the internet caffe with all the Imac knockoffs was great. When The Simpsons came out I was in the third grade and it was my favorite show, because of the antics of Bart and Homer.
Now that I am older I see the pop culture references and every episode is like a treasure hunt trying to find those allusions. Needless to say it is still my favorite shows and it is one of the smartest shows on television.
I may have seen every episode dozen times in syndication and I am still finding new references that I missed the previous 11 times. That is what makes The Simpsons a joy. The fine level of satire is close to the best on television. If the show goes another 10 at this rate, it would be fine by me.
Now if they will only make a Quake-like game with Itchy and Scratchy!
