Unfortunately a lot of socialists don't understand basic economics.
Unfortunately a lot of capitalists also don't understand basic economics either.
The real issue with listing those costs is when the company tries to disguise a cost of doing business expense as a government mandated fee or tax. Not saying you or your company did this, but the telecom sector is really good at it. Plus those fees never seem to disappear from the cable bill.
Again how many of the 5000 employees are meteorologists? If only 1000 are meteorologists then this is a proposal to cut the meteorologist staff by 25% which is one hell of a lot more than 5%.
It's getting increasingly difficult to fire poor performing employees. C
With the proliferation of "Right to Work" laws and states it has gotten much easier to get rid of any employee for practically any non-discriminatory reason, including their politics.
Non-union employees have essentially zero job protections and with the death of unions we have fewer and fewer union employees.
That is because the federal judiciary is biased against conservatives and Republicans, and for liberals and Democrats. It's why Trump and Bush and Reagan were always challenged while Clinton and Obama got away with whatever they wanted.
They allow Ds to get away with this bullshit practice, but spank the Rs.
Just spitballing here but maybe the R's tend to try shit that is truly unconstitutional more often than the D's so get themselves slapped down more often.
Since the Republicans have gotten very good at Gerrymandering through the use of Big Data and computer mapping I think maybe it does belong on a site for nerds.
"At a statewide level, Wisconsin is a quintessential battleground where races are often decided by only a few percentage points. Contrast that to the state assembly map the Republicans drew: In 2012, they won 60 of the 99 seats in the Wisconsin Assembly despite winning only 48.6% of the two-party state-wide vote; in 2014, they won 63 seats with only 52% of the state-wide vote."
Don't get me wrong, this is not a partisan issue as both sides have historically tried to use gerrymandering to influence elections, it is just that lately the Republicans have been particularly aggressive and good at it.
And we have a winner. The use of HTTPS everywhere defeats the ability for devices like the Riverbed Steelhead appliances to perform acceleration tasks, this greatly affects the ability to work from such far flung locations as Thule Greenland, Diego Garcia and Ascension Island.
Excuse me, you don't have to have a plan from the Exchanges to be covered by Obamacare. Obamacare established minimum coverages for the vast majority of healthcare insurance plans that were in existence.
Where the real lie was when your employer tried to claim that they had to drop coverage that was above the minimum in order to comply with the ACA, this was a pure bald-faced lie.
Yeah sure you want to be left alone but too many "conservatives" that I know have no problem messing in the lives of others. For example, right-to-lifers, sodomy laws, christian conservatives..
How much will Democrats force the federal government spend to investigate the Steele dossier, which they themselves funded the creation of and never bothered to corroborate or vett any claims within it before 'leaking' it to the press?
I don't know how much the federal government will spend investigating the Steele dossier but I will bet that it winds up being significantly less that the Republicans spent of investigating "Bengazi". And please address the contents of the dossier not where it originated, because if true then the contents are a damn-sight more important than who paid for it.
Try being a firefighter on a military installation. Still using 24hr shifts
- During the day definitely doing the tasks you mentioned
--Training
--Vehicle prep
-- Equipment maintenance
-- Public Service
After 1800, if night training isn't scheduled lots of downtime
-- Exercising in a in-station gym (I us the term gym loosely)
-- Studying for a degree
-- Watching lots of TV, shooting pool and playing cards

The Harmony Hub system supports IR/Bluetooth/RF and IP as ways to control your devices. Yes you run the risk of Logitech dropping support for the Hub but that can be true of any device. At least the Hub has a physical remote that works without a connection to a central server.
Examples of devices controlled by my Hub:
Roku -- RF
PS4 -- Bluetooth
Dish Hopper3 -- RF and IP
Sony TV -- IR
A larger issue is some vendors have stopped releasing control codes to third party vendors making it difficult for like Logitech and URC to support the devices.
Not really, from what I have read the shooter was exiting the church after shooting the parishioners when he was confronted by the citizen toting the rifle. So unless the shooter was planning on going somewhere else to shoot additional people he wasn't stopped from killing anyone. What that citizen did is act as a vigilante.
Destroyed is pretty accurate when you dismantle a satellite because you sure as hell can't reassemble it into anything resembling a serviceable satellite. Each of those pieces has to be designed to work together and assembled in a "clean room" to avoid contamination, take it apart and you sure as hell are going to have some contamination that will cause issues in space.
You can't move up the launch date if you aren't done building and certifying the replacement satellite. You don't just decide one day to build a satellite and then have a satellite ready to go the next.
Good luck getting the state to pay for your legal costs if you are found not guilty.
If you win a civil suit then maybe but not in a criminal case.
PEBKAC?

The proposal is to cut 248 meteorologists, how many of the 5000 staff employees qualify as Meteorologists?
This man has a point.
Sure he does, at the top of his head.

So you would rather your taxes go for paying for prisons instead of assisting those that need re-training due to the loss of a job category?
Doesn't this country already have enough people in prison?

Because corporate policy says I am allowed to, as do the the corporate policies of many/most US corporations.

Does that work on my Roku4?
Try controlling your PS4 or Roku4 with that programmable remote and IR repeater. Ain't going to happen.
More and More entertainment devices are moving towards RF, Bluetooth and IP for control so it will just get worse.
Love my Squeezebox Boom. Still going strong as the best Internet Radio ever.

Why?
What facts did I get wrong?
Did the armed citizen go into the church and interrupt the shooting?
Was the armed citizen a legally deputized member of law enforcement?
Did the armed citizen take the law into his own hands?
Did I criticize the armed citizen for taking action and acting as a vigilante?
Not really, from what I have read the shooter was exiting the church after shooting the parishioners when he was confronted by the citizen toting the rifle.
