    Yea, while not getting into the politics of it, historically women were disadvantaged in terms of education and expression.
    Is it any wonder that there was more notable male scientist and artists when women would not be allowed to pursue higher education?

    Why do you feel it needs the specific purpose to solve world issues?
    Why can't a bunch of like minded people pool their money and buy space/equipment that would be otherwise hard to come by?

    Depends how much of an emergency is needed.

    I would think adding a couple other buttons or switches and requiring them to be toggled in sequence would add a much greater level of safety from accidental shut off while not requiring much more effort by an operate to execute when shit hits the fan.

    Actually banks for me seem to have some of the worst online security.
    My bank for example, has a password limit of SIX characters; not minimum, but the MAXIMUM. Also no punctuation marks, only alphanumeric.

    Well generally a hackerspace is a bit more broad in scope.
    It's not JUST a shop, many will have smaller electronics areas, or even arts/crafts areas. When someone mentioned a "shop" they dont really think painting easels and sculpting tables.

    That's more an issue of how large Texas is. Parks, Rivers, Lakes, Campgrounds; we got them, but becuase our cities are so sprawling and spread out, it'll take a while to get to them.

    I do agree though that we could help out matters by making more smaller parks, then a few giant ones. Visiting them during the weekend or any holiday is just a waste, since they will be swamped with people, many who will be out watching TV, blasting a radio, or getting drunk and starting fights. Don't like it? Well we have another park literally across the state, and will take all night to drive to, and will have the same issues.

    Major cities are actually quite nice, Houston, Dallas, Austin; all nice places to live or visit depending on your interests.

    Since they had to poke holes in the pack to enable them to get the retardant into it; it sounds like it was intact, and was just burning; which you would think a professional Fire Dept would know not to mix Li-Ion battery fires and water.

    Yea, of course difference though seem to be while a Li-Ion pack may be a pain to put out, it won't be leaking a flammable chemical that can easily spread.

    How can you call it censorship?

    It's a device bought by the school for the purposes of school work. Just like how your work computer is meant to be used for work.

    Students found a way to break the restrictions and got them taken away; this is not a case of the school trying to keep some useful or vital information from students, it's them expecting students to adhere to their agreement and the purpose of the devices.

    The devices were in part to help the students, and probably to make it so they would not have to carry several large and heavy textbooks, and instead one iPad for all their assignments.

    Sounds like a a lot of work for something that only a few school districts have adopted; add to that they would be competing against the other tablets and eReaders which can already be managed from an Enterprise level. The way iOS is designed just makes it impractical to manage in an enterprise environment.

    IDK about the X series. It's not quite the same, losing a ship in there can be a serious loss of an investment, to the point you often try and avoid combat.
    If you think there is a chance for a pirate raid, you're better off bypassing it.

    You want an EVE like learning curve, and writing scripts? X is your series.

    Same for my GF..

    She's been a hard worker for the same place for years, knows everything that goes on, and makes a decent amount. One day they lay her off and hire on someone at less than half her old salary. A month later they are calling her and asking that she comes back; new person is slower and does not know as much, they would have had to hire two more people to keep pace with her old workload.

    Companies all over want loyalty and quality work for employees; they just dont want to pay for it.

    Also despite the fans and critics loving Empire, George himself considered it the worst of the originals and was not as involved with making it, and resulted in shooting taking much longer than expected. Basically all the good shit about Empire, you can thank Gary Kurtz.

    As someone who does eat insects and worms, it's kind of a big difference between eating a ground up insects as part of a baked cake; and eating a bowl of spiced and sauteed mealworms.

    You can buy flower that is made with insects and mealworms from many "fancy pants" stores to make a chocolate frosted cake, but it's a bit different when you got a pile of worms on your plate.

    Salesmen can be annoying, and customers tend not to like annoying things.

    Same reason people started to buy stuff online, even with stores price matching; when I visit a store I'll have sales people walking around pestering me, and at check out getting a hard sell to sign up for their extended warranty, their mailing list, their rewards program, and best of all their news letter.

    Compared to most online retailers where I have opt into those services, and can proceed with but one click of the mouse.

    If you trust a salesmen, any salesmen to tell you the truth 100% then you're a rube and deserve to get taken advantage of; when buying a car you should always do research and know at least as much as the salesmen.
