Issue is you then risk making a game by committee, and we've seen it happen many times by traditional Devs that it's rarely a good thing, and at best are medicore. Often times games with a clear and inspired vision end up being or the better or bombing terribly.

Damn near everyone will have a screwdriver in their home, but only hobbyists spring for a router table. If anything I can see printers being setup in shops like Kinkos where people can take a design and have it printed in an afternoon.

Often times it seems, even with a prototype they will just take the lowest bid from a Chinese company to manufacture something; and as it turns out, it's shit quality, is delayed, and has budget overruns. Resulting effectively having the project die because they'd need to redo the entire Kickstarter to raise money for a second round of manufacturing.

Issue is, time is finite. You're effectively doubling the time spend per each course, thats going to mean less time for other courses, and jobs needed to buy food and pay tuition.

Also issue is the time needed to prepare, classes would need to be staggered to allow at minimum the three (or however long is needed) hours between them. I highly doubt these results would be comparable if I did the preparation at 6am and had a class at 4pm with a full schedule between that.
