    I had 1 call since Sept 2004, and the TPS is actively pursuing my complaint regarding that call, seeing as it was a criminal offence to make it.

    The also handle SMS spam complaints too, now that that is illegal also.

    I used to see that with 3ds4 as well when I was rendering this. One was a pentium and one was a pentium pro.

    Ah those were the days. We were on a deadline and rendered it over Christmas. After four hours the disks would be full and it would be time to transfer it to the DPS-PVR. I spent six days where I couldn't leave the room for more than four hours, sleep included. Was pretty wild !

    VH1 viewers voted it second best CGI video of all time, behind Gabriel's Sledgehammer so I guess it was worth it!

    plan9 is in graphics mode but there's no buttons, sliders, radio boxes, tick boxes etc.

    (well there is a widget set but I've never seen it used)

    When I eventually saw a wrist consultant at my hospital I was told "it's nothing, it will sort itself out".

    This despite occasional pins and needles in my face and complete loss of strength in my hand (I would sometimes have to drop things like books and cups).

    He was right in that the excruciating pain went away but I still suffer from wrist pain over 10 years later.

    They gave me some cortisone injections but the response of UK medical staff has been rather underwhelming.

    It *was* useful when I was unemployed and they were trying to force me into work. I told them I was perfectly willing to work but I was having trouble finding a job that didn't require me to :

    • sit down all day
    • stand up all day
    • lift things
    • push things
    • type
    • write
    • drive
    • peform repetitive manual tasks


    They gave up trying.

    on the the motherboards I've used with ac97 it picks up bus noise so that even pressing a key generates an annoying buzz. Playing games is terrible when they loads sounds from disk to play in DirectSound.

    And on XP on my Tyan DUAL when I disable the onboard AC97 it will install the SB Live but not use it.

    FreeBSD decides to ignore the BIOS's disable and use the AC97 anyway !

    The article is a troll anyway. This soundcard isn't in the supported hardware list but I expect it to work. Win95 can use it, why can't Linux!

    Newsflash - Win95 can run Word2 for DOS too! Beat that, so called Linux

    Do you know what they played all night? - SNES games !

    I really doubt they are losing money.

    They pay me an average of over $60 a day for serving ads, and that's on just 7500 impressions. Multiply that up to 18 million searches a day and it should come to nice tidy sum.

    Curiously you aren't allowed to carry adsense ads on adult pages

    Which is a great shame as moneterizing your content is important. giving away content and relying on adsense is a good business model. I have a photographer friend who has bucketloads of pictures he would like to profit from but finding the best method is difficult. All it takes is one person posting your stuff to usenet and your exclusivity is pretty much shattered. And it's not like you can't get free porn, even without free passes & usenet !

    Using security as an excuse to deny the acceptance of Word Documents is FUD.

    There is *no* security risk in *any* attachment, only in the applictions used to process them.

    We've recently seen buffer overflow exploits in *many* email clients without even getting as far as *opening* the documents.

    Thing is, if the person who sent it to you *does* know about computers, they will know you are a tool.

    Try and convince me that there have _never_ been exploits via html & pdf.
