You might think that is the case, but it is not. Firefox, being standards compliant, is very easy to develop for. Much of the work is in working around IE bugs and general weirdness.
Well, the Federal Reserve is a private corporation, so I doubt that the manufacturing of currency by private corporations would make the situation any worse.

I doubt it. If Google released any kind of OS, it would most likely be Linux-based (possibly an existing distro), and that could be rather discreet.
It has a lot to do with the different strains of Cannabis. Some are good for body highs (Indica), and some are good for mind highs (Sativa). Most Joe Sixpack type people prefer the body highs, which also tend to dull your mind.
If you are a geek, and smoking cannabis, seek out a quality Sativa-heavy hybrid that will give you a cerebral high. In California, this should cost between $60-80 1/8 ounce. Also, using a vaporizer will give you a cleaner cerebral high (as opposed to a bong or a pipe).
I don't know how anybody could ever say that KDE is cleaner than GNOME; it's simply not true. I try KDE every 6 months or so, to see if is usuable, but I always end up going back to something else.
GNOME may not have as many features, but I like that. I would be using Xfce, but I like the level of integration the GNOME gives me.
I was actually going to mention that, but I didn't want to start a QT/GTK flamewar. I do think QT/KDE has some cool features, but GTK/GNOME feels cleaner and more elegant.
FWIW, I think that Opera on win32 feels weird too.
Why would a strong-minded person need to do this if he was following the truth. Only a weak-minded person would need to follow a religion, which is only an approximation of the truth.
It hasn't been 'unstable' for me, but it certainly doesn't run correctly. The main view is always scrambled, and it can't even export an image correctly. I'm sure this will be fixed for the final release, but for now the software is pretty much unusable.
What's so funny about Corel. I prefer CorelDRAW to Illustrator any day of the week.
BTW, you guys should check out the new Xara X1. Xara is independent from Corel again, and their vector program is truly unique. It doesn't have the feature bloat that CorelDRAW & Illustrator have, and it can make some stunning graphics. Definitely not a replacement, but a great addition.
Don't know if this (Sitecopy) will fit your requirements, but I like it quite a bit.
It's written in Perl, so it'll run just about anywhere. With Sitecopy & CVS, you could probably write some scripts that would make a pretty cool & portable content distribution system.
Dude, I'm not retarded. I wasn't tricked into believing creationism by some fundie. I merely said that I do not think that evolutionary theory, as explained by science, tells the whole story. I believe that the truth lies somewhere between engineered and evolved.
That is part of what I am trying to say. Joe Sixpack does look at science this way (and unfortunately even many geeks do). Science, when viewed this way is not much different than religion.
You are right, I did not fully understand the word theory in the scientific context. It's only a minor point though; I don't disagree with evolution because I think it's a theory (as I understood a theory to be), I disagree with it because I do not think it is correct.
My point is that religion & science are two of a kind, not parts of a whole. They each aim to completely describe the universe in their own way. In this regard, I find them both lacking.
Religion is lacking because of any kind of facts or evidence to back up its claims. Science is lacking because it fails to even begin to explain some of the most basic and important things in our universe.
You might say that science will be able to explain those things given enough time, but isn't that really just another belief? What if it can't? How many times in history have scientific explanations been proven to be totally untrue? How long will it take for currently held scientific explanations to be proven untrue?
Do you get what I'm trying to say?
Given what I have said, is religious belief any better or worse than scientific belief? Is it any wonder that there is so much conflict between the two?
This is /.
We are the geeks
We facilitate the corporations
We can destroy the databases
Why haven't we?
When will we?
Exactly, and it doesn't really matter if 9/11 was perpetrated by OBL or the US government -- the net effect is the same.
I personally think the the CIA had a hand in it...there is some compelling evidence, but ultimately it doesn't really matter.
Hear hear!
Sorry, pet peeve.

No he's not; I feel the same way. There is something odd about the way Opera & KDE feel.

I'd take 50k a month. That's rich enough for me.
I'm using the latest version of Ubuntu. All of my other 3d applications work perfectly. My card is an Intel i8xx something or other.
Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that Google Earth has finally made it to Linux! I don't expect a beta release to be perfect.
I've also heard that nicotine also slows the effects of Alzheimers.

Spend $200 on your local geek, you cheap bastard, and have him hook you up with a real AV system.

Don't be retarded.
It's not a link, it's a URL, asshat.
