    Funny, I've never had to show any ID when getting a refund from either Kmart or Wal-mart, and whoever said you had to use your real name on any of the forms? I've paid $1500 cash for a used car at a dealership without any problems whatsoever.

    It looks like AOL doesn't want to be put in the position of being accused supporting of GAIM over some other project, especially if they really have nothing to do with it. Letting the GAIM project use AOL trademarks is something that really could come back and bite AOL in a legal sense.

    TRON in the some of the Atari Basics 8-bit stood for "Trace On" as I recall. It would display at the top of the screen the line number and the BASIC statement of a program written in BASIC as it was executed as an debuging aid.

    How could they make a sequal to Tron? It was pretty much a one-shot movie. What could they base it on? Go back and watch Tron again. All the lose ends were pretty much wrapped up in the end of the movie.

    Bullshit. You've *NEVER* used Redhat have you? You can configure just about everything by hand with Redhat just like you can under Slackware. I know since I configured/edited the ini files dealing with pppd and fstab along with others using pico. The Redhat interfaces just make changes eaiser. Losers like you really need to get a life.

    Riiiight. NASA is going to let these things zip around the space station/shuttles and watch them plow into various control panels and so forth. I don't think so. If NASA does permit these things on board a space station, you can be pretty sure the commander of the station isn't going to be letting these things have free reign of the station they have anything to say about it.

    Absolutely nothing. People will still keep on using using GCC as they have always done. Why? Because GCC is multi-platform. Compilers like Sun's aren't. End of story.

    Face it, Tod's "article" is nothing but a last-ditch-effort by the pro GUI crowd to bury the CLI. Utill a year so ago they had thought they had done this untill Linux really took off and proved false the lie that you couldn't have a OS that would be popular on PC's that isn't tied down to/crippled by a GUI. Now to their horror, people are questioning the real vaule of GUI's all over again like they did in early 80's. Hence the reason you are seeing articles like Tod's poping up again, chock full of the "Ease-of-use" bullshit that we all have come to realize for the fucking lie that it is.

    Digital camera taking over the market? Don't bet on it, bunkies....want to lay odds on the fact in 20 (most likely less) years you won't be able to find any hardware/software that'll be able to read the format your digital pics are stored in?

    On the other hand we can still view pictures taken with ordinary cameras over 100 years ago. A perfect example of this are the pictures taken during the American civil war.

    Get real. The Amiga needs linux, but linux doesn't need the Amiga. This is the reality of the matter.
