My FIOS wireless router came w/ 64 bit WEP enabled and a little brochure that claimed that cracking wireless networks was "just in theory" and that 64 bit WEP was in "as secure as a wired network".
this wasn't software downloaded from the internet for the phone, it appears the card was infected before it was put into the phone. the code wouldn't even execute on the phone, only if you plugged the phone into your computer and mounted the sd card. thus the walled garden wouldn't protect you and is completely unrelated.
Despite the standard inaccurate Slashdot headline, they're not actually suing over the legality of targeted killing by drones, they're suing over the disclosure of information. Government transparency is a big part of what the ACLU is all about, and they're suing to get the government to hand over the documents. If impropriety is found once/if the documents are released, most likely a different group would actually sue over the abuses, since they are, as you say, not a civil liberties issue.
if you actually got confused by this 'invasive dialogue' then you have no business helping anyone with any computer, and might want to think about wearing a helmet on a regular basis.
It's not complicated, hearing aids need to be very small. Neither your 1970's amp nor your netbook will fit in your ear. Making something small and reliable enough for this kind of use is difficult and expensive.
There is a massive difference between DVD and blu ray on TVs a lot smaller than 72". On my 65" it's night and day, on a 50" (which is very common for HDTV) it's unquestionably noticable, hell even on a 42" you can definitely tell the difference assuming its 1080p. However, this service is most definitely not blu ray, and the difference between compressed 720p and an upscaled DVD is probably pretty minimal.
You act like the meta-game of these games is vastly difference when it is 1 to 1 with different coats of paint, AC1 had a lot of problems, 1 being the repetitive mini games, two being the boring travel between places. It wasn't a game an experienced gamer would not have seen before.
I'm not acting like anything. I own AC1 and I think it fucking sucks. Every 3 or 4 months I put it back in to try to finish it just for the sake of finishing it, but I can't because it sucks. However, the fact that I don't like it doesn't mean that no one else is allowed to. Also, the recent Prince of Persia game (which was based on the AC engine), came out AFTER AC1, and also sucked. You'll notice that I just said that it sucked, and didn't make a poor attempt to belittle you because you didn't think it sucked, because you are allowed to like it, even though it did in fact suck.
yes, what fools everyone is, they have no clue what they like at all. don't they know they're supposed to ask you first, and then only like the things that you like?
Except they weren't a successful studio when they got bought, they were a small studio trying to release their first game. and at the time, activision was not nearly as reviled as they are now. if you're a brand new developer and one of the largest publishers in the world offers to buy you but let you maintain creative control, you don't say no.
hmmm, that would have been a better plan. I still have one and I ended up filling the front ports with epoxy to force myself to only use the ones on the back before I threw the fucking thing out the window.
only better engineering i can think of is the dell dimensions that have their front usb ports mounted vertically, facing the ground, under a cover. try getting that in on 3 tries.
having RTFA, you're pretty much correct. he talks a whole lot about things "that happened to him" and takes very little responsibility for the fact that he brought most of it on himself. he seems to blame infoworld for the damage caused to his reputation as the result of his writing an intentionally inflammatory and salacious blog, and uses that as justification of his creation of an 'alter ego'. and honestly, all that would have been fine if he hadn't then gone on to shill his pseudonym's product using his real name and for that he has no one to blame but himself.
but you're wrong. when vhs and beta came out, beta supported 250 lines of resolution vs vhs' 240, and the heavy luma/chroma 'bleed' in vhs made the picture look noticeably worse. eventually vhs upped to 250 lines of resolution, and incidently beta actually downgraded to 240 lines of resolution in order to fit 2 hours onto a tape. however, the misconception about betamax picture quality is often attributed to people who've seen superbeta tapes, which weren't introduced until 1985 when the format war was already over. however, at 290 lines of resolution these tapes were/are significantly clearer than vhs. as for porn, yes there was beta porn, but it came much later than vhs porn and was significantly harder to come by, and this was because sony initially tried to block it from the platform completely. so while the common stories told about the format war aren't fully accurate, calling them 'false urban legends' is well, a false internet legend.
The Verizon DVR problem is really a failure of the manufacturer not a problem with the spec, and it is entirely software. The problem is pretty well documented on various forums, Motorola seems to have no interest in fixing it. See
it's a nice thought, but a) most end users won't accept using two different browsers and b) it's not just intranet pages that keep IE around. the biggest thing holding back other browsers in the corporate world is the inability to manage them centrally through group policy or something similar.
actually, TFA says "The jets are the “UB” variant of the SU-27, never intended for combat, so they aren’t fitted with weapons." Way to make up a quote so you could pretend like you read it though.
well, cactii is definitely wrong, its cacti. virus does follow a pattern, just a different pattern than cactus, due to differing latin roots.

I dont know, most cd's that come out these days I'd rather burn than rip...

if that was his intention, he fails at writing and probably still needs the helmet.

Don't be fatuous Jeffrey

Yes, you may be wrong.

sadly, it appears to be true:

Last, the first one-piece camcorder was the Betamovie. The tapes were completely identical to the home decks.
i think commodore64 is confusing betamax and betacam, although inaccurate either way.

Civ Rev was it's own game and most certainly NOT a port of Civ IV. The two have little to nothing in common.
actually this thread

is much better
