I have never ever seen such a poor excuse for software in my life as "Crapzilla". It is ugly, slow, buggy, and has never rendered pages right and likely never will. I suppose it's a wonderful ideal, making an open-source browser and all, but it's not even what I would consider ALPHA quality, and is just plain stinking garbage.
*) I went to espn.go.com, which I use as a page rendering test (since it's a table-heavy graphics-rich site and a challenge for a browser to render), and it rendered it with all the tables stacked vertically like Lynx or Mosaic. *) Without asking, it re-arranges and renames the items in my personal toolbar folder *) AND, it throws open _EACH_AND_EVERY_ folder in the Netscape bookmarks editor, by stripping out the "FOLDED" key. I have over 10,000 folders in my bookmarks, so this is like an act of war to me! I had to pull the bookmarks file into an editor and spend 1/2 hour doing search and replace to replace the "FOLDED" key And let's not forget the bastard-ugly UI. I've seen better-looking vomit than Crapzilla, and Crapzilla is sickening to look at.
Frankly, I don't give a damn what the Crapzilla team's ideals are, I don't give a damn how it's licensed, and I especially don't give a damn about the "advance" Crapzilla is supposed to represent. Just because it's open-source doesn't mean it's good. It's just the backwards bastard browser from hell, and Netscape 4.61 is LIGHT YEARS more advanced than Crapzilla, and I'll be using it for years to come. I certainly won't be using Netscape 6 ever, since it's just Crapzilla rehashed, and I likely won't ever forgive the Netscrape people for this abomination.
Well, I'd have to wonder... In the past 48 hours, I've had the desktop (Tracker) lock up on me twice, once the whole OS just shut down on me without warning and rebooted, and the latest and best:
I was browsing the web with Opera, while playing an MP3 in the Media Player, and suddenly the sound stopped, the top 1/4 or so of the screen went white and filled with text like "Panic", and "Welcome to kernel debugging land!", along with a stack trace and some other stuff. Everything was frozen, screen, KB and mouse, and all I could do was hit the reset button. (From the looks of things, it was caused by the Media Player)
I'm glad you are able to run Be stably, but it just doesn't seem very robust to me:(
Plus: Recognized my video card perfectly, I was able to bump up to 1600x1200x32bpp easily Booted quickly
Minus: Didn't work with my SB16 sound card (Boo hiss!) Wouldn't talk to my modem. It seems it only supports the first two serial lines, and my modem is on the third (com3|ttyS2)... (Maybe it's there and I missed it) I didn't see anything like a file manager...
I'll play with it some more, but I'll be damned if I'm messing with my modem!
Actually, the info in the article was not quite correct. You have to have MSIE because the banner software uses MSIE's libraries, but you can use any browser you want.
The important question now is: how come it's so small?
Because it's written from scratch, and does not have any library routines that it doesn't need...
I *do* like the fact that they bothered to write their browser from scratch, and in the Windoze version, it works very very well.
I have an OLD 486 laptop with 8mb RAM, running Win95a, and there is no IE or NS on it. Opera is the only browser on it, and quite probably the only one that WOULD run...

You should run the runnow script, it preloads a couple things.
here's no easy way to type a URL into the browser. Typing "http://www.yahoo.com/" into the File|Open dialog
There is a button on the toolbar ("Open remote URL") to enter a URL, or you can just type it into the URL bar at bottom if you already have a page showing...
Oh, I know, I know... I own three domains, and I CONSTANTLY get snail junk mail catalogs with my domain names on them!

I've contacted my coffee supplier, my coffee pot manufacturer, and the manufacturer of the carafe (and mug too, since it's much more convenient to drink from a mug than it is to drink directly from the carafe) and luckily, all are compliant. I suggest you do the same.
I'm not worried; I rubbed my magic lamp three times and had my genie fix all that so I'll have coffee on new years day. If the power goes out, he'll even hold the plug in his ear to provide power to the coffeepot [grin]
(Just couldn't resist :)
Alright, I know this is bloody silly, but why not call it B.E.E.P. ? Why do they have to put Xs is there?
It's easier to pronounce, and doesn't sound like a trash compactor speaking Klingon ("Bee ex ex pee colon slash slash"...)
Just my little useless gripe about all the hard-to-pronounce acronyms out there on the net...

I've already found out one thing about Be, it crashes like Winodoze... Not very charming.
Whatever.

All in all, I'll stick with Linux. :)
The best thing to do is to call them at 1-800-2-citifi and let them know of your displeasure.
Please do be polite, after all, "you catch more flies with honey" et al...
Interestingly, the rep I spoke to had just bought Redhat Linux, so I definitely found a sympathetic ear :)
If you go to the W3M site, there is a glibc 2.1 binary build I contributed (RH 6.0) which may work for you - It's at least worth a try.
That's what it says; it's their wording, not mine.

From what I have learned here, I managed to finally get my resolution up to 1280x1024 in spite of having a completely undocumented monitor...
