"Give me an implanted (without surgery, though - like some kind of pill), thought-operated organic quantum computer ..."?

You're limited to a single meat sack in only one point of the space-time continuty? Next you'll be telling us you only have five senses. You're still in the Stone Age, buddy.

  2. Re:If True, Fascinatingly Bizarre Logic on Whistleblower Claims IEA Is Downplaying Peak Oil · · Score: 1

The real issue that most seem to ignore when spouting the oil == fuel nonsense is that oil isn't only used for fuel, you know. Besides fuels, heating oil and lubricants, it's used in almost every single facet of daily life. More energy efficient cars are nice but less oil means less: petrochemicals, fertilizers, agriculture, computers, toys, everything made of plastic, electronics, cosmetics, adhesives, detergents, solvents, pharmaceuticals, etc. Our entire Westernized civilization revolves around cheap, plentiful oil. Without that, there will be change.

  3. Apple has a one time cost of $100 == !correct on How Apple's App Review Is Sabotaging the iPhone · · Score: 2, Informative

Apple has an *annual* fee of $100 to anyone, not a one time cost. You pay your $100 each year to continue to be part of the dev program. Myself and several devs I know have just past our one year anniversary and have had to pony up next years $100 fee.

AS Tarrvetus has already said ... his will probably get me modded for flamebait, but... $4000 to have a baby? WTF? We've had two now, the first nearly born in the back of one of three ambulances (standard, baby-ready and NICU-trained crew) that responded to my home that evening, and after a three day in hospital stay for that one the total cost was $0, including the ambulance ride. Can you imagine if you, like 50,000,000 other Yanks didn't have a health plan at work, and had to pay that $4,000? Silly Americans and their fear of nationalized healthcare.

  6. Re:Degradation of rights for nothing on DHS Allowed To Take Laptops Indefinitely · · Score: 4, Insightful

Don't you find it a tad hypocritical to be chastising a judge for allowing Islamic tenets to be used to settle disputes, and yet your sig quotes another mythology/religious text which is just as silly? I do. If you claim Islam and/or all of the other 4,200 recognized religions in the world is not a valid process of thinking, please make sure to add yours to the pile to. But then again ... Rational arguments don't tend to have an impact on religious people. If they did, there wouldn't be any religious people, would there?

"Building multi billion dollar industries on the back of our content without paying for it." For a second there I thought he was speaking about the record companies. Silly me.
