My only connection to this website just got severed. I used to keep/. RSS feed on my igoogle. But I got tired of seeing fark shit like this. So goodbye/., you just to be great.
Taco, you killed slashdot. Idle may have been the weapon, but it was you who wielded it.
Aren't there plenty of simple molecules and elements that are toxic, not just metals? We should focus on reuse and recycling, not vaporization.
No, for the most part, all the really dangerous "elements" are metals. High energy molecules on the other hand can be more dangerous than simple elements, but this process should destroy any high energy molecule.
As for your comment about recycling, the solid matter left over from this process is actually supposed to make one hell of a nice building material. So that takes care of reuse and recycling for you. Plus it saves a tree, or something.
the fact still remains that that land must be used to grow grain to feed the cattle.
Look buddy, I don't know what country you live in, but in MY AMERICA, we feed our livestock nothing but CORN. You don't get massive government subsidies for growing grain, you get that for growing corn. And even tho our livestock's digestive systems don't process corn properly, THATS OK! cause we can just give them antibiotics in every bite. And yes, this might make them fart and belch excessive amounts of greenhouse gases, but that's not a problem for us farmers in the midwest, now is it? And SURE, this might make all the cheap food in the entire nation "unhealthy", but hell, it's never been cheaper to feed your family! All thanks to corn subsidies provided by your taxes
And I bet you didn't even know that your taxes were subsidizing the entire fast food industry!
but what is with the recent spate of "_____story" tags? Why is the word "story" being added to the ends of tags now? Seems kinda redundant and/or useless.
Because tagging stories as comments would be dumb. (check out the firehose, you will understand then)
You don't want to see most of those "actors" in that great of detail.
No, not real human actors. Close up, a human actor's ugly bits are actually... well... ugly. That's why it's necessary to create virtual pron stars, they have ugly bits that are aesthetically pleasing.
That's actually why I always propose we go to a system of setting 8:00 PM to sundown on a weekly basis. It actually makes everyone happy, but nobody would ever accept it cause it means more work.:(
There are only 4 main engines. Gecko and Webkit, which you already mentioned, then there's opera's and IE's engines, neither of which I can remember the names of at this moment.
There are many other minor engines as well, I call them minor because they are not even remotely html spec complete.

There is one tangible benefit from GH tho, and all the other rhythm simulators. They teach rhythm. They accidentally teach how to keep time.
Coincidently, since I am pure white boy with no rhythm to speak of at all, I cannot possible play any rhythm simulators at all. Which is a sad reflection of the reality that I was not destined to ever play a musical instrument well, no matter how much I like practicing./sigh
Why was this modded insightful? Unless you were too lazy to even read the comment he was replying to let alone TFS, let alone TFA, its patently clear that the parents "correction" is incorrect.
You seem to be taking a hard line stance against this behavior, as if it were purified evil. Ok. Why? What about this behavior do you find to inscrutable?
I honestly don't see anything wrong at all with crowd-sourcing. Especially not when the crowd is so willing to lend its hand.
An evolving story line that remembers the actions of those rare players who achieve greatness. Actions and powers given out only to a tiny fraction of the players.
Then you will have a tiny fraction of your paying customers left.
/sigh. of course, I meant Olivander's, not the bookstore. While you're accidentally in Flourish & Bott's, please be sure to check out my new book "Pedantical Me".
What the op, tsm_sf, is looking for here, is a magic wand. He wants to build a cheap small machine he can stick anywhere and with it be a wizard at reading obsolete physical formats. But that's just plain absurd. The reason the old formats died off was simply because they WEREN'T small and cheap (and they ran out of bits).
So I offer two solutions to the OP. One is a usb floppy drive, which is everything his overly vague request requested. The second is a magic wand from Flourish & Bott's, 'cause that's the only thing that could possibly fulfill his request for anything older than floppy drives.
Oh, right. 'cause you can use that copy of leopard to install on a machine you built yourself./sarcasm
EVERY copy of OSX is an upgrade copy. Cause you CANT install it on any computer that didn't already have Mac OS on them. There is no such thing as a full version of OSX because there isn't any such thing as a mac without mac os.
Are you kidding? Apple users spill their coffee on their macbooks in overcrowded coffee bars ALL THE TIME! And no, they are NOT EVEN REMOTELY spillproof. However, they are too pretentious to tell the truth about it. This is why the new ones all have moisture detectors in them.

It's about creating a pervasive environment of exposure
Also an effective way to brainwash a person too.
You're from the department of redundancy department too?

If he has got his messages (http://slashdot.org/help) set up to send an email when someone replies, the checking would be trivial.
Anonymous Coward posts, once posted, are anonymous. As such, the server would not know who to send message to.

i'd prefer theora.
That's unique. No, really, I mean it. You're the only one in the world. Literally.

Why is there any doubt in your mind that the value is less than 100%?
An inalienable right is one that cannot be waived or forfeited, but somehow it was still lost. /sigh

Proprietary? Do you even know what that word means? Considering your list you apparently don't have a clue what "format" means either.
How you got modded insightful... that's a great big wtf there.
