  1. Re:It's no loss regardless. on Matt Damon as Kirk in Star Trek XI? · · Score: 1

    I don't know, I bet a soft-core porn flick about Matt Damon and space unicorns would be better than a lot of the Star Trek stuff. At least if it was hot space uniforns that is.

    The tube analogy would work if Ted Stevens wasn't talking about an internet arriving two days late and other nonsense. More can be read at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Series_of_tubes

  3. Re:Pronunciation on Synthesizer Pioneer Bob Moog Dies · · Score: 1

    I wish I had a source for it. However, I think I read it in a magazine that's now out of business (musician magazine). The wiki article doesn't really contradict what I said though. His name is pronounced like vogue and his instruments are pronounced however you want.

    That's how his name is pronounced. He has stated that his products can be pronounced either way but he likes the way that sounds like a cow better.

  6. Re:hmmm... on IBM Using iPod to boot Linux on PCs · · Score: 1

    The new ipods (4th generation) have a fast enough processor to play ogg files. All the older ones didn't have a fast enough processor. You are running Linux on everything including your ipod, right? I don't notice any gap between songs on my ipod, so I am assuming they fixed that too.

    They aren't torn apart for multiple reasons. One of them is that there is nothing for them to hit that will tear them apart. Going millions of mph is different in a vacuum than it is in the earth's atmosphere. To get more complex, to the star it's not moving, the rest of the galaxy is. To understand more of what I'm talking about read about the reference frame in any basics physics book.

  9. Two incidents is not a lot on USPS Service Kiosks Taking Pictures of Customers · · Score: 2, Insightful

    Two different people doing bad things is not really a lot. More people are killed in hit and run accidents every day. So with your logic, everyone should wear cameras looking out for rogue cars?

  10. Re:Just say no... on XM to Launch Satellite Radio Handheld? · · Score: 1

    Clear channel does not own XM, they just own some stock in XM. I can't stand Clear Channel stations, they play such sanitized boring music. XM on the other hand is so great that I own two receivers and am thinking about getting a third.

  11. Re:Science != religion on Bush vs. Kerry on Science · · Score: 1

    The NASA money is not really being put to good science use. There isn't really any point in manned missions to the moon. We need to be sending more telescopes and things like the Gemini probe into space rather than wasting incredible amounts of money sending people into space when robots can perform experiments much better than people.

  12. My experience on Is Your Elected Official Really Listening? · · Score: 1

    I have been emailing my representatives for a at least 3 years now and my experience has been quite nice. What usually happens is that within 24hrs I receive an automated response. Within a week or two I receive an email which is actually addressing my issue. Then within the next month I receive a snail mail letter which goes in depth to the person's feelings on an issue. Sometimes I will also receive copies of speeches and voting records from the representative. One just has to wait a while after communicating.
