You sound like the owner of my current companies main competitor... They filed for Chapter 11 recently.

And no I DONT apply to jobs, I have not had to for 12 years now. I get job offers, interview the companies, and the ones that have dumb busywork for HR are out of the running instantly. I then make counteroffers and tak the one that I feel is a better fit. This is what happens when you are in a field with less than 600 people that do what you do in the country.

I refuse to fill those out. Hell, I refuse to fill out an "application" more than writing "see resume" on it. when I am looking I usually have 4 companies or more looking to get my attention, I am not jumping through your busywork hoops just because you want to feel important.

That might be a fun thing to do to the common people that are a dime a dozen, but I dont play silly HR games. I handed you a nice resume, and more copies of it in the interview, that is all you get.

I'm guessing you would freak out when I take a big sharpie to your contract and strike out the stuff I dont like, inital the changes, and then sign it. I do that to ALL contracts, only a fool signs a contract as written.

Get yourself TWO "space blankets" and separate the two with a regular blanket. put it over you and go. You have about 60-120 seconds before your body heat will raise the outer blanket above background temperatures.

This trick has been used to fool FLIR cameras for a very long time and is easily carried unlike a 6'X6' piece of glass that is far more effective at it and a lot longer duration.

Also be sure you are not a moron and wearing "flip flops" or other crap shoes that allow a lot of heat to escape and leave thermal footprints on the ground.

Note: if they are using FLIR and searchlights, you need to cover the outisde space blanket with a couple layers of camo netting or you will stand out as a giant silver alien.

Unity as a UI IS bad when used in a traditional computer. Same as how Windows 8 utterly sucks to those of us that do work on our computers. I have 3 24" monitors with at least 6 windows open at once and I need them all active at once. the Desktop UI had not get in my way. Under windows 8 it does. Under Unity it does.

Separating out the Desktop UI to be different between professionals and home users is a HUGE mistake when it comes to productivity. There are a LOT of really stupid changes in Unity. the scrollbars being 2 pixels wide but "POP UP" is frustrating to everyone that uses them. the UI taking over all the freaking time is annoying. And annoying = less productivity and money lost.

Lots of places. Unless you have a product that has a major design flaw most products dont suffer the same fate. If you blow out a major chip, most of the time it's because of user failure or engineering flaw. And like I said, most of the time it is not a major chip as a failure.

for example, my 55" Panasonic plasma that I snagged for $25.00 in a broken state. It's failure was actually the power supply. Replacing several transistors a Power transistor and rebuilding a couple of board traces by using wire wrap wire brought it back to life.

A friends PSP only had physical damage to the main board. Obscure chip failures are incredibly rare.

But, I have repaired many Xbox360's by finding other broken ones not all RROD failures are complete chip cooking, Most people chuck the box or sell it on craigslist for $10.00. So the "hope" is not difficult, in fact if you find a common failure, there is a flood of parts out there from other failed devices.
