An ECM from 1986 can do it better than the best driver that has ever lived.
they do Carbeurators for the ease of checking that the cars are legit. it's really easy to hide things with MP EFI.
Kind of like how Smokey Yunic cheated with gigantic fuel lines to have an extra gallon of fuel on board. He met the fuel cell dimension requirements, they never said how long and how large the fuel lines can be.
The tech improvements to hide yourself from the watchers will start accelerating. The technology war has just begun. Honestly, this will be interesting to watch.
I know a LOT about internal combustion engines, and I read the article and it's WRONG. I have rebuilt many engines, I tune engine ECM's for racing I have to have an INTIMATE knowledge of how the internal combustion engine works and the "lazer plug" WILL NOT WORK in a engine as we know it. the spark is the ignition source, and people have tried silly crap like indexing, spark kernel shrouding, etc.. to increase efficiency and all they get are miniscule improvements. No real improvements that can be directly attributed to the spark change. your spark is igniting the fuel, a hotter spark does not ignite it faster, burn rate of the gasoline (octane rating is burn rate, higher octane = slower burn rate) is what dictates how fast the "explosion" is. if you explode it in the middle of the cylinder you lose energy as the piston will hit the wave front as it is traveling up, this causes knock and piston damage. most engines compress the gas, and ignite the spar just before TDC so that the wave front hits the piston while it is already going down.
what ignites the fuel has a net zero effect on efficency.. it's engine design that needs to change.
They claim those games are expensive because of the rights fees.
Guess what, the same game without the NFL branding and fake teams and names on generic faces IS JUST AS FUN. you dont have to pay a bunch of prima donna babies for the right to their "branding".
If the game is a great football simulation, real gamers will buy it.
I personally dont know, those games have a -100 interest to me. IF I can run up and punch an opposing team player for grandstanding, or pick off a spectator's head in the stands with the football, then it's boring.
dude the epic game does not exist anymore. The game that took you a month or more playing it nightly will never exist again.
Dragon Age II: short as hell unless you shell out more and more for DLC.
The LAST epic long game was Blue Dragon. right now game companies are more interested in short crap. Hell I finished Halo:reach on hard in 3 days... That's a freaking mini-game. Gears of war II was 2/3 the length of Gears of war I and I have low hopes for III.
and who in the hell wants to play an epic 5 month long 3 hours a day game on a portable device? There is a reason you dont have WoW on ios and android....
Uno does not sell cars anymore. Nobody buys any of the parker brothers board games.
I think you really underestimate the value of a quick game. I know people that keep around a old Motorola Razr because they had "Bejeweled" on it. funny part is that the Apple store is so crappy that I had to show these people that they could buy it for their iphone. you cant easily find anything in the apple store.
Which by the way Bejeweled is STILL highly played after years and years.
If your game costs $1,000,000 to devlop for a phone or portable device, then stop right there, close up shop and go home. You are doing it wrong and will only produce crap.
Yes it's neat that you paid a world crafter to spend 8 hours a day for 6 months to place every pieces of junk in your world, ala: fallout 3 and some gamers might notice and appreciate that, but 90% will never notice and dont care. So stop paying a "artist" low 6 figures to do grunt work and hire a student at low 5 figures to do it instead.
Honestly, hiring rock star programmers and artists on a $1.00 iOS game is utterly stupid. And only a complete moron would do such a thing.
Games like angry birds, coded up in a month, art done in 3 months by a medicore artist. ALL DONE and even at dumb silicon valley pay rates you are still under $100,000 and they made that back in the first week of sales.
"Very simple reason: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. "
But it is broke. many times the damned imperial/metric thing has bitten us in the ass. Hello? you happy about a several million dollar lander making a crater simply because of the USA catering to the "their takin' my inches Yaaaaaa!" crowd?
What is broken is two different systems where a measurement, 22.254 is VASTLY different. if you lose the signifier you are stuck. Most places in the usa 22.254 = 22.254 inches.. this is a natural engineering assumption in fact most blueprints do not signifiy inches and just put on them the numbers. Most places outside the USA 22.254 = centimeters a significantly smaller unit.
this causes huge problems in manufacturing if someone does not spend the time clairifying. It's a larger expense and can cause catastrophic results.
Um yeah, they trot out this bull-cockey every year. until they can make the laser spark plugs less than $0.29 each and as durable as a current one there is no market. plus the spark plug has nothing to do with the engine efficiency. The article is full of Wrong in almost every corner of it.
Ive made nitroglycerine and its not that dangerous until you get to the unstable levels of concentration.
Low grade nitro that can take out a house by putting it in a nice sealed pressure cooker left on a fire in the basement? Easy as hell to do. I was 13 when I mixed my first batch of it. I made a small mason jar full of low grade stuff. a campfire in the wood to detonate it, 1 hour later it left a nice 6 foot crater where the campfire used to be. we spent the next 6 hours putting out small fires in a 60 foot radius.
Microsoft has been big on tablets cince 1992. Vista and 7 come with tablet functions in it and XP was the last good iteration with their tablet add on package.
Plus why should they make a tablet? Fujitsu and others make tablet hardware that is 900X better than anything that Microsoft could ever make.
Problem is lack of games. I WISH I could buy some fun games for the PSP, but all they do is re release driving games, that suck on the PSP or FPS games that also suck badly on the PSP. They treat the PSP as a 13 year old kids device...
Anyone that has done any of their challenges knew this. IF they can drop files into your dropbox without giving them permission then that means it's not encrypted. or has a known key.
what fool puts all that where someone can see it? you have a trunk or under seat location dont you? plus why are you using a monitor? Video out to the built in flip down monitor.
If a thief can see under your seats then you bough the wrong minivan.
I am both. because I discovered you cant afford the full tech head toys on the techie salary. If you are a real tech head, you have to have the high 5 or low 6 digit salary in order to afford the real fun toys.
In fact most people, where their new 42" LCD is at and where they sit, they cant SEE the difference between a bluray and a DVD. Most people sit more than 12 feet away from their nice shiny LCD widescreen. and this is too far for a 42" to see the resolution increase a 720p signal gives you. you have to sit even closer to see 1080p
SO the rich guy that has his 62" above the fireplace and he sits 20 feet away... he cant see the 1080p he paid for. It's why I laugh hard at people that are shopping for 690hz and has to be 1080p! Why are you payng for all that buddy? You wont see it! Your wife wont let you put the TV where it will deliver the best picture.
Ask most racing fans (outside the usa) NASCAR is not even racing.
Real racing? That was Group B rally racing. Those were REAL racers, not these little kids that we have today running their over stickered go karts.

Yup, too bad nobody makes any money off of linux. Glad we have billionaires like Linus Travolds who secretly pumps money into the project.
Yup. nobody plays any of those old games.
Uno does not sell cars anymore.
Nobody buys any of the parker brothers board games.

I love how Darwinism is wiping out all the idiot teenagers.
Keep doing stupid shit to get high kids... It makes the world better for the ones that are not so stupid.

It's already been several generations.
I had a tablet running Windows for Workgroups 3.11 tablet edition back in the 90's on my Dauphin DTR-1

Rear projection I'll bet. The poor mans HDTV
Analog sunset baby! as of january 1st they can disable the analog outs on your dirty rotten thieving bluray player. you scumbag!
Why we as a nation dont show up at the MPAA headquarters and burn these assholes at the stake I'll never understand.
Why dont you make a car XBMC so you dont have to carry disks in the car?

Then let's look at cost.. At new release, Blurays are 2X or more than the price of a DVD.
Really, you have? On a modern drive?
Because modern drives have glass platters and the gunshot shatters them into millions of pieces.
A drive from the 80's and early 90's? yes.
A drive from the past few years? no.
