I believe the statement about not likign the show enough to watch it live went off course from his main concept: That people that watch the shows through DVR's are skipping the ads, while peopel who watch it live are watching them (or at least having them played while they do other things).

I could see someone who watches 8 hours of TV a day not seeing a need for a DVR.

I love having a DVR because without one I could never keep up with shows. I certainly love to watch TV, but I watch it on my schedule and not its. So, if something comes up, I go.

But if you are getting in 8 hours a day of TV time, well, you're available to watch it when its on.

I do believe that PC gamers would tend to fall into the "Broadband" group. Although, a STREAM survey is a little biased, I'd think. Seeing as it involves sending large amounts of data over the internet and dial-up's might avoid their service.

I wonder how that 60/40% correlates to those that would buy/play PC video games.

However, just the basic numbers of 60% being able to connect via broadband and 40% not being able to refutes the posters claim that "most people cannot "connect online and play". . as most people can.

Blizzard has alienated a large number of us "casual" players who do not have three and four hours a night to spend running end-game content.

Didn't Blizzard just change it so that you can extent a saved isntance past the 1 week reset timer? Wasn't this done so that "casual" players, who coudl not complete it within a week, could take as long as they needed to go from start to end so that they could enjoy all of th eend game content in their own time?

If you don't want to pay for it in a better format than the format you purchased it in, than jsut enjoy it in its VHS format.

Just because you've purchased a copy of it (what 10+ years ago?), does not make you any less of a "pirate" than someone who has never purchased a copy. It certainly does not make your downloading of the content any more "justified".

With a skill-based system it's hard to figure out where "abilities" come from - do you buy them with skill points? Do you get them automatically with certain levels of skill? Those approaches both have serious issues, both of which make the whole "skill balancing" thing even more difficult.

In UO they did not have levels. To advance with a skill, Say The ability to use a sword, you had to use the sword. The more you used the sword, the better your skill with the sword became. A much more "natural" system than "leveling up" in my opinion.
