What about blaming people who bought (or "obtained") OS X and ran it on a chipset that nowhere on earth has Apple ever said is supported?
When it stops working, perhaps they share perhaps a tiny bit of the blame...?

I think that if Microsoft stopped supporting AMD 64-bit processors they might see less court time.
It would probably result in a joint suit naming both MS and Intel, as the only benefit to MS for this would be a truly shady deal with Intel. It is in Microsoft's best interest to support all possible hardware, Apple's profit margin is mostly in their hardware, so it is counterproductive to make life easier for users who want to use someone non-Apple hardware. People who have already put this on their netbooks can avoid the upgrade, so it doesn't have to break their systems.
Not likely. Of course it only effects jailbroken iphones, you can't put openssh on a non-jailbroken phone. to see a conspiracy there is pure stupidity, or outright trolling. It looks like a mod gave you the benefit of the doubt.
Well, you are talking about customers who managed to a) jailbreak their iphone, and b) install openssh on it in the first place. I really don't see it as that big a stretch to expect such people to have a basic clue about security (ie. default password bad)
The problem with this logic is that a car designed with power steering is vastly more difficult to control when said power steering fails than had the car not had it to begin with. that 8000lb truck has mechanical steering designed to function without power assist. When power steering fails you have no assistance, power or mechanical, to fall back on.
My own experience with Dell, and I have had and currently support over a dozen, is that the nVidia cards are just crap. I have been using the Intel graphics, and they work fine. Don't know if the problem is nVidia's fault or Dell's. If you stick with the stock intel graphics though, they are fairly durable.
I believe that all boxed OSX is essentially an upgrade license, since the EULA explicitly forbids non Mac hardware, how could you be buying OSX and not be upgrading?
Not sure I understand the sentiment. If you pay for (at least the media) for, Fedora, Slack, Gentoo, et al, why not Ubuntu? Because they offered it for free and now don't? Ubuntu may not be perfect, but it is the closest to a mainstream marketable OS that the Linux world offers, and as such should be worth at least as much to you as the others. To snub Ubuntu because they no longer ship you free CDs, when the others never did, seems a bit petty.
I have yet to see apple go after an individual for putting OSX on a white box, or even the osx86 project. Apple only seems to care when someone tries to sell them.
Which has always been the crux of the issue. Who gets to decide what should and what should not be public knowledge? You can easily go wrong by being to open or too closed, where is the balance?
I am a legit user and I get burned burned by WGA all of the time. Ever try explaining to a customer why replacing the motherboard on their Acer means buying a new copy of windows?
You don't need to. It may be a pain in the ass, but you can call microsoft and they will give you a new code. It even gives you the number when you try to activate it.
While that is true, there's certainly people who like to have a second pc for other purposes too. If you have a mac, you probably get Windows for its apps and especially games. Most people who have Linux PC (either as a server or a desktop) probably have a Windows PC too because you can't really do everything with Linux. I have a Windows pc and a linux server. I would probably have a Windows pc too if I had only a mac.
You have a point with the household's share, but it certainly counts for individuals too, only a bit less.
Or, lets be honest, even if you feel the need for the extras that come in a Mac, you may not feel a second system needs to be up to the same caliber as your main system. Apples has no low end, so if you want a cheap second system, you buy a PC.
Apple doesn't make CHEAP computers like $300 netbooks so that cuts out the poor/cheap folks looking only at price.
Don't you think some people buy a sub $300 netbook or PC because it might meet their specific needs? I have an HP Mini that I got for free but they sell for under $250. It does what I need it and expect it to do. What am I missing out on? What am I doing on it that it is failing to perform because it is "cheap"?
I happen to look at the price of EVERYTHING I buy including a bag a frozen vegetables at the grocery store and make a decision if it will meet my needs for that amount of money, I call it maximising the value for my dollar. How do you buy and compare things?
A Mini has nearly all the same features as a stock Dell, plus bluetooth, two video ports and firewire... all items adding $75 more each to that "budget" PC.
You can find PC's that have all of the features of the mini for well under the Mini's price. Sure, I can also find PC's that are the same and even more expensive than the Mini too but if you'd like to only compare to the overpriced PC's, that's your choice. Another note, maybe someone does not need or has zero use for firewire, bluetooth, or two video ports on their specific PC, why should they pay for it?
The point here is that the person who values that dollar amount above all else, or the person with no need for the extra features on the mini, are not in the target market of the mini. By all means, buy what fits your needs/budget. Just afford the same to mac users, without all the hate.

You're either insulated, or you suck at humor. By your logic windows boxes get administratored.
Well, with some of the messes I've had to clean up from previous Admins it isn't an unfair statement

I find them in my daughter's diapers every now and then.

The flip side, of course, is when you try to downshift said automatic on the highway and drop it into reverse. Always fun.
And when you are sitting at 150 C do you really give a shit if your laptop works?

Well, I haven't seen any suggestion that there is info in TFA. Of course, who would know?

Ok, that's two posts you've mentioned me in, ma, enough already!
Please, accept my sincerest apologies for failing to proof-read a stupid one-liner.
I heard the manual Versa was a powerless dog. Is this better in the 09?

Are you kidding? Most of us use it for 90% of our thinking

And spoil us an epic laugh? Anr rob Slashdot of a 'haha see toldyouso' summary whose article doesn't even have to be read?
Is there an article somewhere on slashdot that does have to be read?

right click the network interface and choose "repair". It won't do all interfaces at once, but it combines release and renew into a single step.
