I'm surprised that nobody has commented so far on the fact THEY SERVE TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PURPOSES. One works with traditional TV networks and supplements them with internet content. The other is for interfacing with the apple store to rent movies and shows. There is a tiny bit of overlap since both can do Netflix streaming, but then again what can't these days? Even phones can.
Not to mention the fact that if I want to use a specific cellphone, I really only have ONE of those wireless options, since they all use different frequencies and not all phones will work on all providers.
Well lets see. I have 4 wireless options (ATT, TMobile, Verizon, Sprint). With Wired I have DSL, Satellite, Cable, and DialUp, with at least 1 provider in each. I'm not saying I have alot of options in wired providers, or even alot more, but I do have more.
A WELL WRITTEN desktop app interface can be good. However it is MUCH easier to write a good web interface. Why? Its really easy to scale, size, change, async, and just about do anything. The web interface already has a framework that is easy to use and code for AND works on EVERY OS.
I couldn't agree more. Honestly, I use DSL (the phone company) because their service is reliable, even though their support is TERRIBLE. If the service you provide is reliable, you can get away with terrible customer support (because customers rarely need to use it). IF however, you are a cable company with terrible service then you NEED good customer support, because they will be calling you often. My local cable company (Charter) has great support, but terrible internet. My local DSL (AT&T) has terrible support, but reliable internet.
I've had similar things happen. "Oh, sorry someone is running around the neighborhood breaking into places with dangerous weapons. They don't do enough monetary damage for us to investigate. We're too busy investigating corporate fraud."
The police are not your friends.
Better, but not by much. Yes the trips are often scenic. Yes its a comfortable ride. Beyond that? Its slower than driving, never on time, and more expensive than it should be.
FYI, No, they do NOT run on schedule or close to it as you have indicated, at least not here in CA.
You underestimate the absolute stupidity of the educational system. You will be forced to read certain books many times, because each teacher can chose whatever book they want, so they often chose the same books. They also expect you to re-learn the book with their interpretations and the details that are important to them, so you can't just recycle what you learned or tell them you already read it, they don't care.
Because its a lot easier to get companies to agree upon a certain plug to use than it is to get them to agree upon what kind of battery and where to put said battery.
Get a GSM phone, then you can remove the SIM card. Get 2 phone plans, one in Canada and one in the US. It'll be more expensive to have 2 plans, but it will also be cheaper than paying international rates.
Well I guess you and I will have to agree to disagree. Let me rephrase what I said earlier. What is the private sector's motivation for going into space? Rich people's tourism. What is NASA's? Science. I chose the latter over the former.
Hopefully that fruitbat is named Eric

Um... what? Wireless is MORE competitive? Do they live in the US? Where did they get this false info?
I couldn't agree more. I want to join the glossy screen haters club. Why hasn't this parent comment been modded up yet?

I think you're confused as to who provides you with internet.

Don't presume to speak for everyone. Some of us really DO want to live on the moon. And no, I don't want flying cars or hovercrafts.
Actually sir I think you are confused. There is adequate technical hardware, and then there is hardware with adequate industrial design.

You forgot to mention SLO's numerous bars and awesome food! Wine country nearby, hiking and beaches, halfway between LA and SF...

Haha, I was almost worried for Texas, but you sir raise a very good point.
Panned out pretty well, much to the annoyance of anyone who believes in conservative economic policies, but not in Jesus.
In addition to the annoyance of those of us who believe in Christian values, but not in conservative economic policies.

Exactly, you said it, not me. To make money. My argument is for science, yours is for penny pinching accountants.
"And stick with this decision." EXACTLY. It was decided already, but someone had to go and change their minds.
+1, couldn't agree more.

some of us would disagree
No, I meant you were wrong with your last comment at the end about the news not being fantastic.
